| I wonder if Russell will be a good price for top try scorer?

At 13 against 3 strange that you might think we'd have more from Wigan's academy.'"
Sorry I should have been clearer "First team players that started RL life in the Wigan youth set up".

Original question was perfectly clear, just wasn't the answer you wanted.
Not sure what you mean by Wigan youth set up? Take a look here
www.rugby-league.com/article/376 ... ralia-tour
plenty of Wigan Academy players but none of them (I think) a product of a Wigan amateur team. So are they products of Wigan's youth set up or is Costello from Orrell St James one even though he's part of Saints' academy?
One thing we probably have this year is as many Warrington borough born/raised players as we have had for many a year.

So you say it's perfectly clear then ask for clarification in the next sentence? Don't understand but thank you for presuming what I was thinking. It's an amazing gift / terrible condition you have.
So going off 1-17 from here https://warringtonwolves.com/club-news/ ... d-numbers/ with the swap of Brown for Sandow I make it as ....
Wigan : Russell, Currie, Hughes, Crosby, Brown. (5)
Warrington : Evans, Cooper, Dwyer and King. (4)

Ben Currie played for Warrington Academy, not Wigan`s.

Might be wrong, but didn't the King brothers come from Huddersfield's academy?

Your first posted question was perfectly clear as it referred to Wigan Academy. I then asked for clarification about what you meant by Wigan youth product meant as that isn't clear (hence the example I gave). You certainly confused WazzaWire in respect to Currie and I suspect yourself with Dwyer identified differently to Currie.
Apologies if my reply didn't read correctly, to be honest I thought it was quite clear that I just asked what you meant by Wigan youth product if different to a product of their academy.

| Didn't Ratchford start out at Wigan, not sure what age he was when they released him. Dwyer started at Wigan RL too then released.

George played for both Huddersfield & later Warrington Academies.
Wire did a player exchange deal, with our academy player Micky Learmonth moving to Giants.
Learmonth was a major signing for us, when he joined the club, but never fulfilled his potential.
Maybe Huddersfield thought they could develop him?
I am not sure what George`s status is, as a "Club Trained" player, because initially he did sign professionally for Giants, but as I have outlined, he did play for our academy.
You are correct that Toby King has only played for Wire professionally.

| I know in an ideal world that we want people playing for Warrington from the town, but at the moment it's going to be a little difficult.
The facts are, Warrington have Crosfields, Woolston, Rylands, Burtonwood, Culcheth, Bank Quay and Latchford.
Wigan have Pats, Bulldogs, Ince, Jude's, New Springs, Cuthberts, Spring View, Shevington, Orrell, Hindley, Westhoughton, Ashton, Golborn off memory.
we have a much lower number in our catchment, so we have to compete for local juniors.
The real test isn't how many come out of the filter, but Warrington finding a way to put more into it. There are huge areas without clubs, or with RU stronghold that need to be introduced to the game, and in 10 years time, maybe we can boast an academy like Wigan's

| And of that fewer number we are not always successful at signing some of the better juniors who come from Warrington.

Which in itself is a vast improvement on where we were when I was playing junior rugby 20 odd years ago. At that time only Woolston had a team at every age group, for a long time other than Laportes who only sporadically had a team, we had no other team in Warrington at my age group.
You are correct there still remains big areas of the town with no junior rugby presence though, Birchwood and Grappenhall / Appleton / Lymm are probably 2 areas that stick out.

Which ones are playing Super League next season? Or in the last five seasons, come to that...?
