| I totally disagree with the views on Mylers defence he is similar, although not quite as good as Monas, with his one on one defense. he cuts them right in the traditional low down way, same as higham. Dont know why people seem to think Myler cant tackle. Just watch him on Friday and you will see a different player rather than just assuming he cant tackle. He has been a decent tackler for 12 months now.

Great, so we have a half-back who can tackle (though the stats from Thursday dispute this) but has no kicking or organisational game and won't take the line on, or is so sha**ed out from his defensive duties that he is unable to?
Brilliant.

| Are we all not being a bit harsh?
As I've said previously, against Saints we looked ropey as a full team with only two or three players looking only half decent.
Wasn't Myler lauded as our best player last season until injury? Doesn't he regularly top the Warrington stats of try assists.....even when Briers was playing as well?
My thought it this, because Myler doesn't pull off the spectacular 'defence splitting' ball or hasn't got the pin-point accuracy kicking that Briers had we all thinks he's tosh and better shipped on to another team. I actually believe he is a good player and that his contributions go unnoticed because they aren't the 'spectacular chip to the corner' or the 'no look pass' we have all become accustomed to.
((Ducks and waits for the barrage of abuse from the Myler bashers))
Just checked, should have done it before commenting to start with, but Myler topped Warrington Try Assists in 2013 with 24 (closest was Briers and Ratch on 20), 2012 with 19 (closest was Briers on 18 and Bert on 14) and also 3rd best in 2011 when he was behind Briers and Bert. So clearly he is doing something right when it comes to attacking rugby.

| I think Myler is up there with the best 7's in Super League, i also think Obrien will be as well, and there is our great problem where do we play them both. We have played Myler and Biers so can we play Myler and O'brien? Dont see why not but who plays 1?
What a great decision to have to make, not bad for a team that is S@@T according to most.

| With the loss of Briers the team has lost its right arm & will have to learn to cope by finding either other playmakers or different ways to win , but i'm sure that in a few weeks the people on here having attacks of the vapours will look back at a storm in a teacup.

Myler is a fair defender for a halfback but he wouldn't be as a hooker. You can see him visibly tiring when the opposition puts a target set on.
He just isn't big or strong enough to be the smallest man in the forwards.

| Myler is no better or worse a defender than Burrow or Robinson, but they make a good shout at hooker, so why not Myler.

| Hiya fellas
Just to throw my two-pennorth in, we had GOB for 4 games last year, and we drew against Catalans where he abslutely ran the show... He also played well in another game but I forget the opposition off the top of my head - either way, he came in to replace Chase during a ban, and did so admirably.
During pre-season I was a little annoyed we signed Seymour on trial and didn't at least test the water to see whether GOB was available from Warrington for a 1-yr loan (or better)
...admittedly the retirement of LB came at the wrong time for that, so wasn't expecting it to transpire, though I'm sure you can understand an "outsider's" confusion of putting an out and out hooker at 6 this weekend - now I'm no Wayne Bennett, but even I know that you just can't make that work, especially when replacing someone of Briers' calibre

| Unless he is still affected by his ankle injuries, but looking at his last two games Ratch is not a fullback.

| So the general consensus is that G'OB is worthy of a regular starting slot?
Cas seem to think so, Saints became more consistent with him last season, he orchestrated games for Widnes and I can remember him creating / scoring some amazing tries for us (in both our camouflage and MND charity shirts).
So why isn't he given a chance before Monaghan?

| Everyone deserves the chance if they show something in the first place, it's then up to the player to grab it with both hands and make himself undroppable.
Mick Monaghan is not a Halfback, so give GOB the chance, give him at LEAST a run of 5 or 6 games and assess him based on those performances.

Couldn't agree more.
