Oh well, there goes the family's Sunday afternoon escape from the hype...
On the concourse you'd expect it, but on the big screen could that possibly be too distracting for the U20s? (regardless of no sound, still be misplaced ooohs and aaahs and endless chunnering)
A view of the back of heads of those stood in the South Stand couldn't be very inspiring either?

Good if the U20s want to watch the game though surely?

Would be a lot better if the big screen was in a more prominent position. As it is, you're going to get loads of people wanting to stand in that particular section of the south stand as the other 3/4 of the stand can't see the big screen.

So where is the best place to watch the footy on Sunday. What's past records like when there's a big England game on. Does it kick off quite heavily?
Was thinking Yates's, or has anyone with more local knowledge got any better ideas for cheap beer, and a decent atmosphere.

Yates's is now a Wetherspoons (The Looking Glass) has quite a few LCD screens dotted around, great choice of drinks and food.
I've tried to avoid places that are right in the town centre and have went to places just a short walk outside for the England matches so far.
The Albion on Batersby Lane less than 10 minutes walk from the stadium has a projector that they pull down, brilliant real ales, world beers also serves food
The Bulls Head or The Tavern on Manchester Road also only around 10 minutes walk |
