| My first post on here but have been a regular viewer for months.
Me and the family travelled to Watford (my home town) on Friday evening from Warrington (my adopted home town) with the car decked out with flags and ribbons and parked in my parents street outside a house decked out in primrose and blue.
The owners had seen us drive past and came to the door for a chat - I think that may have something to do with me dancing around with Wire flags outside their house. Only about 50 yards from where i grew up!
Being a Watford football fan I've seen limited success (2 play-off final wins at the old Wembley & Cardiff) and they were real highlights. However, I've never seen a team I support win a national cup final and it felt better.
Well done to the players and supporters for making it such a great day.
C'MON THE WIRE.

| Quote foot in touch="foot in touch"at half time we watched a forty year old female wire fan carrying a full four pint holder back to her seat. the problem was that she had already had a skinful and couldn't remember where she was sat. by the time she had called whoever on her mobile she had spilled three and a half pints on the floor ( about £14.00) - priceless!'"

| Great weekend as usual and all the Wire fans were fantastic.
Highlights include
- Winning my bet on first try scorer. Cheers Richie!
- Seeing DJ Birchy and the Wire fans in our group nervous for a change as opposed to the other way around!
-The manager in O'Neils bar (Euston) getting agitated as Wire songs were being sung.
It was a good game and it was nice for Warrington to win it (while Saints weren't there!!).
Congratulations guys.

| I'd like to know who the other Wire fans were who were serenading a middle-aged black bloke who looked a bit like Louie Armstrong with "It's A Wonderful World". On a tube somewhere in Central London. Funny as hell, and the guy took it in great spirit.

| We didn't do too bad on winning margin: won back the money we'd lost on first try scorer and Lance todd winner anyway!

| Three of us were dressed as banana-men which is a predominantly yellow and blue outfit - and when we were going around the London after the game we were asked many times why we were dressed that way - were we from Sweden or Chelsea supporters or on a stag do. It was also amazing how many young ladies wanted to have their photo's taken with us. Its the first time in my life that I could ever be described as a babe magnet.

| So many memories :-
Arriving at Warwick Services to a sea of P&B and having to que for the blokes bog !! They didn't know what had hit them !
Coming back to Warwick Services and being thanked by a WPC for being such a great bunch of people - then her pointing out those babes in the bikinis, saying - hardly dressed for Wembley are they - pmsl
Like someone else on here - slogging up the hill to the Green Man to meet all the our fellow Southstanders, as pre-arranged, only to find them not there. Still never mind managed a couple to still the nerves !!
Meeting my daughter in the Green Man, who'd travelled from Gt Yarmouth for the big day.
Having a drink with my mates along with other RL fans.
Walking back down the hill with 'Lefty' and then realising I never introduced myself - doh (I'm the Southerner if you remember)!
Hearing the final hooter, and my son taking the p.. coz there was a tear in my eye,. Celebrating with my mates and fellow fans, and hearing the words - 2009 Challenge Cup Winners - Warrington Wolves !!
What a simply amazing day !!

A guy I know from work was dressed as Bananaman (John), was he one of your group? The stories you are similar to what he told me.

| Amazing weekend, from start to finish. By finish, I mean like 10pm on Monday, just one of those weekends where you spend the weekend smiling, laughing etc.
Could go & on really, a couple of favourite moments.
- Having friends around on Monday, watch the game back, get a takeaway etc. We ordered some food, it was a bit pricey, so my mate had a change of heart and decided we'd order elsewhere but clearly felt that he had to give them a reason so simply said "Can I cancel that mate, my kids have fell down the stairs see."
- Penny chanting "Dougie, Dougie, Dougie..." on that bus, just made me laugh, oddly.
- Easily my favourite 'having seen it again' moment, is Vinnie Anderson and the "Ferkin Power Up Boys ...", amazing.
- Mathers leap and fist pump at FT, mega high.
- Briers at the final whistle, bit of Flintoff about him, comiserating Robinson, hauling him up off the floor, offering a few words etc, showed the class of him, despite what folk say about him. He could have been forgiven for endulging at that moment, he's a top man.
Just a brilliant weekend. Saturday was perfect, the journey, the weather, the performance, the banter, the company. Sunday was crazy, just crazy. Will live long in the memory.
