Yeah the warrington lads had an average wage of around 20k. The kids I mean. It's one of the reasons we let jake emmitt go because his dad was demanding more. To be honest I would have been happy as hell to be paid 20k to play a sport I love. I doubt Asotasi is on that much but unless they release official wages it's all hear say and guess work, so you never know. I just hope we do sign Akuma ta'ai as he would be awesome off the bench or even starting to be honest. I'm still not over the moon with jack Hughes though. His defence is absolutely solid but I don't see much in attack and he just seems to amble about most of the game. He could be great in the right environment though and him and currie could be dynamite second rowers together icon_smile.gif

All those salary figures are too high. The highest salary I have seen paid at the club was £165k and that was for a player who had been through multiple contract negotiations over a long period.

The younger players get paid a surprisingly low amount as well. This isn't football!

I'd be disappointed with a couple of these. Ben Evans is promising and has shown me enough to warrant a stay tbh, and Simon Grix is brilliant for us when fit, he was instrumental in the play off's for us in 2013. O'Brien wouldn't go for me but I understand he will be surplus to requirements next season.

www.theguardian.com/sport/2015/s ... tition-rfl?

Interesting comment from Smith towards the end.

Quote....Smith also revealed any more recruitment for 2016 by Warrington will likely be dependent on someone else leaving the club. He said: “For us to do some other things and tinkering, we’d probably have to move someone the other way. We’re still looking and we’re still tinkering and I reckon in the next little while we might do something.

“There’s a lot of players still available and when little things happen it does have a chain effect. I think there’ll be some movement for a while yet.”

Hirst is a hooker, possibly best suited to being bench interchange to attack a tiring defence. Foggin Johnston is an exciting winger whose strength and speed belies his size, I was surprised we didn't offer him a first team contract (although that may be due to the fact that we have a lot of wingers already). May prove to be a favourite at Doncaster if he sticks at the game.

Both highly rated I think but other will know better. I think Hirst is a prop and F-J a winger. Is it a loan deal or permanent?

Cheers lads, from the brief clips i saw of foggin johnson you could see the boy has talent (a bit like greg johnson from salford) and i'm sure dan hirst is coming here as a number 9, anyway stephen hawking and the sugar monster would be an improvement on what we have here! thanks for the info

Hirst has never played anything but hooker for Warrington. They are both Yorkshire based players, hope they do well.

I think a couple of the other lads have signed for Halifax.

Btw I have heard that Chris Bridge has left the club already and is no longer training with us in any capacity.

If Asotasi is on that ridiculous amount of money then someone should be held responsible and I mean that they should no longer be in a position to have the final say on recruiting players

Who is directly responsible for player recruitment at Warrington?

Ive been told by 2 separate people both of whom have links to the club that Roy is one of the highest paid players in SL.

What a load of , Ben Harrison says he isn't even the highest paid player at warrington. He didn't get offered a new contract at South Sydney and the clubs interested in him in the nrl offered him less then half of what he was on at souths. That's comes directly from Russell Crowe in an interview. Yeah he had a good season in his last year at souths but even then he was far past his best. If we paid over the odds for him it shows how stupid the club is. And no prop in super league would be the highest paid player unless koukash signed sonny bill or burgess. What a load of BS.
