He may well have wanted too at some point, but let’s be honest Shaun Wane turned him into the player he is today and owes him a lot over the last 15 years, it would take a lot from the Warrington chairman/Smith/Agar to coats Little Sam to the H Stadium.
On the other hand, Stefan I know well.
Don't think Smith/Agar have a clue where to actually play Stefan.'"
I dont think we know the best position for Stef, so do you think he will go Wigan if you know him?

So all this from Smith & Ratchford was probably lies a few months ago. Tsk, shows how fickle people can be:
"There's no doubt a player of Stefan's quality was getting attention from the NRL. His versatility is invaluable and in whichever position he is selected, he plays with a smile and does an outstanding job.
"He is a genuine match-winner and can do special things. I'm delighted he'll be continuing to do this in Warrington colours for many years. To tie Stefan down for this length of time is fantastic news for the club."
Ratchford, who has won a Challenge Cup and reached the Grand Final twice with Warrington, said: “I’m really enjoying my time at Warrington and playing in Super League.
"We have an exciting squad here at the Wolves and I can only see it getting better with the new signings joining us for next season.
"We have a bit of unfinished business with the Grand Final and I’d love to win more with this group of lads. There are quite a few of us with long-term deals and it’s great that we will all be together for the next few years; it’s fantastic to be part of.”

| Steph would hate it at the pies. All that boring structured attack play and thug defence.
Hb pass behind a dummy, backrower pass behind a dummy, centre draw edge cover pass to winger to the corner. Yawn yawn yawn yawn yawn yawn yawn

I said it before, where have wire sold a player in contract other than Higham, who's position became untenable, in recent history?
Crimes,we wouldn't even pay Roy off last season.'"
Martin Gleeson.

Scholes again not from Liverpool nor was Liverpool is fav team
On the other hand...
Ratchford, Wigan born favourite team and team he always wanted to play for during our childhood/teen life?? (Wigan)
When you have lived by that goal all your life, I guess it's only a matter of time before it happens. Other then that I can't say much more TBH.'"
Didn't Wigan eff him over hence him ending up at Salford?

Lol. My sides are hurting.
He was a splinter off being sacked by us so to get £100k was great business.

| Can see Ratchford to Wigan becoming the new Woody to Wigan. When is Woody moving to Wigan now that I mentioned it?

| We won't sign Ratchford. As pointed out he'd command a big fee and Lenagan won't offer that after spending money on Tomkins.
It sounds like the Bridge rumour is gathering pace though. I presume we're losing Sarginson if it is to happen.

| TS in the guardian seems to have poured cold water on the Monas leaving rumours.

| No offence to Joel but unless he's moving into the centres this seems foolish.
We have plenty of young, British wingers waiting to get in the team and with 6 wingers on our books next year some must be going at the end of this year, and if it's not Joel then we're offloading someone else just to have Joel for an extra year..

Its not like we are extending his contract though, he's just seeing out an existing deal so why is it foolish?
I hope he stays on the wing, never thought he was as effective in the centres. He hasn't been as good this year, but the service out to him has been pretty poor, there still isnt a better finisher in SL in my opinion. He wont skin defenders, or create something from nothing, but he will score in some pretty impossible situations from 5m out.
If he is to stay on the wing (Both him and Lineham play on the right so maybe TS does see Monas in the centre), then that would leave Evans as first reserve Wing/Centre, Russell reserve wing/full back, maybe Ormsby on a season long loan to ensure first team rugby, and Penny to leave as his contract expires....?

| Some of the names i've seen bandied about on here as leaving (Myler, Atkins & Bridge) are all mainstays of our present defensive line up & if all these are moving on then our defence will be even more sieve like next year.
