That's the one then. Got my years wrong. Sorry rogues.

He might as well have gone, can't be good for him to keep.making the bench and not getting used.

| Quote: rubber duckie "Dec Patton is the only playing halfback at Warrington with a Challenge Cup winners medal, and without his ten minute input in the 1/4 final, we wouldn’t have had the opportunity for Austin and Widdop to play in the semi final to ensure Patton remains the only one.'"
Having a challenge cup winners medal isn't a measure of a players ability, for example, Chris Riley has three CC winners medals, Paul Johnson and Tyron McCarthy have one, Ritchie Mathers two with Wire.
Dec Patton has done a job for us, but he's not the future.

Robson, Thewliss, Doro, Roebuck, Longstaff, Dean and Connor Wrench managed a total of only 13 first team games between them through the whole season. That is not going to do much for their development. Either Price is very conservative or he felt under pressure to grab the points. Either way he has overseen an underperforming Wire team whilst simultaneously sacrificing game time for the juniors. Next season there will be no Reserves and no dual reg., so I suspect their game time will again be very limited.

| I think i would rather watch a team with enthusiastic kids probably rotated into the team on a regular basis & being developed by the coaching staff into decent ,100% committed players than watching imports who only perform as & when it suits them.

If I was any of the 7 lads that Winslade's Offload mentioned, and Price was STILL here in a months time, I'd be thinking [iWTF am I doing here[/i?
Mamo might as well just leave. Thursday night shows that Price has no faith in him. A potential strike weapon (and taking up a quota spot), playing I Spy with Robson for 75 minutes just shows that Price is either
a) a stubborn fool, waiting for a miracle, so he can say [iI told you so[/i, SHOULD the miracle occur
Or
b) tactically brain dead
Or
c) plain daft
So many players (as well as fans) are wasting their time, as long as this fool is anywhere near our club. The next 2-3 weeks are going to be crucial for the next few years, for players and fans alike.
Moran and Middleton MUST see there's a problem, surely?

| They clearly don't though, unless people stop buying season tickets and explain the reasons in this thread it won't happen.

| Can't see many people buying season tickets for next year until we can go. That will be the reason they believe rather than most of us want a new coach.

| What’s next?
More of the same. Third place. Serial under-achievers.
Warrington will not win the grand final until we find that ruthless demand to win from the top down. I’ve got friends who’ve had ST for nearly 30 years who won’t review next year.

| Well , we seem to have got rid of the scientists , Doom & Gloom , off Boris's tv bulletins & now we have a scientist from vaccine maker BioNTECH predicting the end of 2021 before things are back to normal. I should think season tickets for 2021 will be rarer than hen's teeth .

I heard the same on the Andrew Marr show but I'm clinging to the hope that his interpretation of normal might be different to one where it's simply a case of easing lockdown restrictions. He might have meant normal in the sense where everything is reset to the time before we'd even heard of Covid
Btw agree season ticket sales will be a hard sell

| I’m not sure if anybody on here follows John Davidson on Twitter but he has just tweeted a link to an article about us - asking if we are on the hunt for a new halfback.
Sadly you need to pay to read his content so I haven’t seen it. Does anybody know more? Maybe a reference to Widdop again?

Wow, what a season that was. Average score 40-15. My favourite season at the HJ. I remember the Hudds fans unveiling a banner congratulating us when we beat them to win the hubcap, a classy touch that was.

So sad, in what we've become since then.
Yes, we're playing "off the cuff" rugby now, but it's blind panic, where the "off the cuff" stuff played in that season did have [istructure[/i, in that there was ALWAYS a player ready to take a pass, or be available. 2012nwas still good, as was 13. Since then, just a downward spiral of mediocrity. The club have just seemed to accept it.
