Quote: CW8 "This, exactly. There is no point going out in the semis then you don't have a chance of winning at all!'"

It's not what I said but hey ho.

Hard to communicate using a hypothetical future hindsight for hypothetical arguments.

Scenario 1: We lose to Hull
Scenario 2: We beat Hull and lose to Saints

I think there is less heartbreak in scenario 1 and I'd rather go through that than scenario 2. The point I was making is that if they are your only two choices, I'd choose scenario 1. But they aren't the only two eventualities.

Of course I want to win and that can only happen with beating Hull, which I desperately want. If we loose to Saints then so be it as you can't go back in time.

I'm boring myself now. Just wanted to defend myself as people are reading it as if I want to lose a semi-final, which couldn't be further from the truth.

Oh I despise Saints with a passion and losing in a final to them would be horrific but we can't hide from giving that a crack. Imagine beating them at Wembley?? Their record against us in big games is pretty woeful in recent times. If we do meet at Wembley I should imagine it won't be pretty off field.

Let Saints worry about Wire.
Wire are to Wembley in the 00s what Widnes were in the 70s-80s.

I reckon if us and Saints get to Wembley they will be just as worried about us as we are about them.

We may have a poor record in regular Super League games but we have beat them in the knock out games recently so lets remain positive.

How any Wire fan can hope we lose in a semi final is beyond me.

Agreed, but I think we're quite a long way off the form that will enable us to beat Hull.
I want us to win the semi but honestly believe we'll lose. We're simply not playing well, and rely too much on Clark and Austin.
We've great wingers but can't get the ball to them and the 2nd rowers aren't breaking tackles.
At least we'll have Hill and Coops back.

The final? Not worth commenting on until the semis are over.

Of course I want us to win, but I honestly cant remember the last time I left a ground being impressed with our performance. Hull might be inconsistent, but at least when they're good, they're VERY good. Play like we have for the past month or so and we can forget about Wembley.

I honestly fear Hull more than Saints atm. You know Saints are gonna be good, its a given, and you can be ready to at least match them. With Hull, they're like a jack in a box, and if they go off when its your turn they could absolutely tear you a new one. But you don't know when thats going to be, and it'd really suck if it happened on semi day.

I'd rather lose in the final every time having said that. Law of averages says we'll win a final every now and then if we keep making them.

Hi,

Parking can be a problem around the University of Bolton for these type of events/concerts etc.

If you want to guarantee your parking, I run a car park about a 15 min walk from the stadium. This can be pre-booked using the yourparkingspace site.

rlhttps://www.yourparkingspace.co.uk/locations/show/4294932975rl

Car park will be marshalled before, during and after the event.

Happy to answer any questions.

Cheers,
Lee.

Making finals earns us money. No finals = no Austin or Widdop

If we lose them we lose them, so what?! Seasons come to an end but the sport doesn’t. It carries on year after year and we keep going until we reach more finals, earn more money and eventually win one.

We do not ing hope we don’t reach them in case we lose. Yes, Saints have the most despicable bunch of WUMs as a set of fans in the country. No set of fans belittles Wire like them, not even Wigan who’ve won more than Saints have. But that says more about Saints’ fans than it does our team losing in finals. What we don’t do is hope not to make them in case some touchy buggers can’t take the mouth breathers WUMing us.

So long as losing finals is not considered "success". For me Price has this year and next to deliver the big one or he can hit the bricks. He certainly cannot rely on the "attractive rugby" to justify keeping him. Far as I see it we haven't progressed since last year.

Can't help thinking that we will struggle to compete in cup & league. Tough games and wobbling a bit. Saints could manage it better as they have deserved the right to be able to rest players as they wish.
