I wonder whether it’s too late to try converting Smith back to half-back?'" An injury to Clark would be the biggest blow to us. He is simply irreplaceable at the moment.

I agree Moe and how times have changed from the days of Clarke/Monaghan/Higham and to a (much) lesser extent Clarke/Dwyer as far as cover is concerned, or having a top drawer interchange hooker on the bench?
To be fair, it was our backs that needed sorting out and no one can question the club here can they, after some stalled attempts with the Sandow affair and over reliance on Russell and Evans and Hiku returning home prematurely?
We are starting to look better balanced with Goodwin and Charnley and Brown and Roberts, despite what some think, aren't the worst HB pair that we've had, or indeed in SL at present (Come on Roy give Roberts a chance ) Even M Brown as a back up utility player does give me a bit of comfort, he can do a job.
On reflection I think that M Smith is as good as Dwyer, question is will he make it to the next level? .....

| UR, I really like Smith’s crisp passing but at present not sure he presents a similar running threat to Dwyer when he was on song.

| Smith will turn out to be a MUCH better player than Dwyer (if he isn't already). Dwyer's passing is absolutely shocking for a SL hooker.....in fact he's the Matty Russell of the hooking world.

we should have tried dwyer on the wing, he would have given us good kick returns and runs from dummy half.

The only thing that’s made me smile on this forum recently!
Your comment I mean, not Keith Harris’s fist.

Whatever happened to Smith's Crisps?
I agree about his passing and his tackling isn't too bad either,(goes in low a la Michael Monaghan) I think he's a prospect with a bit more go forward running game to develop hope he and we are patient and Clark stays and stays fit

Nabisco decided 3 brands were too many...scrapped Tudor, and Walkers should be the premier brand...just keeping the unique salt n shake and other snacks while phasing the crisp line....however its the premier line in Australia still.
My favourite NRL shirt is the South Sydney Smiths Crisp...Phil Bkake shirt.

Always wondered what went on in the middle of the scrum that you can’t see from the pitch. Come to think of it there’s always at least one hooker who comes out rubbing his eyes!
