| Quote Bigted="Bigted"Most tries in rugby league are down to individual efforts. We look way better without Gidley. He is a very poor decision maker at half back. I thought we looked quite solid tonight. Certainly seen games where we looked clueless. Don't think fair to say that tonight. It's interesting very few comments when we win. The usual whingers still having to find only negatives. Getting boring now.'"
you seriously thought we looked better without Gidley ........ jesus.........
I have no words.....
Widnes are a shambles of a side and we stone cold struggled to unlock their defence.....
a little tip..... we beat Leigh by 50 points with Gidley in it ....... then we went to Wigan and beat them.
Tonight that was an absolute desperate display of dreadful rugby......
guess who was missing....

| Quote Smiffy27="Smiffy27"I have an agenda about being negative ALL of the time. I expect to see people who actually love Rugby League and the Wire on this site. The club has 7 very important games coming up ... moaning, groaning being negative does not help our club. That's my agenda.'"
So what effect on the season to date would you say your positivity has had?
Perhaps you too haven't been positive enough?

| Currie is just another level. First touch he drove 12 - 15m from a tap 20. Second touch he pulled a great pass out to put Atkins away down the touchline. Better vision and execution than we've seen from most of our halves this year.
The chase back to catch the Widnes centre after he had injured his knee was another highlight. i hope he has the time to play his way in to the World Cup squad.

| Over recent years i have seen Widnes come up with the same ploy, push at the scrum & get the ball back. Why don't we try that? I am thankful that after the hour we started to score a few points but we need to be thankful that Widnes were worse than us. Why the same plays, side to side with a kick to the corner for a conversion that rarely comes off, when Hiku showed more enterprise with a kick to the posts that left the Wire flat footed ?
At least the pitch looked good.

I'm pretty sure I saw Patton revers kick for Brown under the posts. Last week grubbered Currie through. neither of those have been formula plays.
We'l be fine. The biggest concern of the night came from CoughitupDennis when he admitted that when a side plays to SL standard then his team can't compete.

Have to agree with this. Gidley certainly makes his fair share of mistakes, but one thing he does very well is to take the line on. That commits opposition players and provides small gaps for support runners and hence opportunities near the line. When he first joined us he was also quick enough to break the line himself near the opposition try line. I think he has been a very good signing for us, just a pity he is now too slow. We missed him tonight despite Patton's kicking.

| I thought Philbins contribution in the 2nd half was very good. His development this season is one of the few positives we can carry forward to next year.

I also have to agree , however I feel we looked so much better attacking with someone on the right side who can actually pass to the right .
Hiku looked like he had so much more time on the ball getting the quick passes from Brown .

Don't be silly, last nights game was a nothing game for your team and you will have no problems in the middle 8's. You hammered us (Leigh) the other week and it should be us that should be frightened of relegation.n

| Positives for me (after a dreadful first half)
We managed a win always welcome v Widnes, I thought Sims had a stormer, but, why get involved he should laugh at kind of provocation, Smith looks a decent prospect and Hiku looks like a decent signing

| I agree with you Uncle, Sims has played well for a good part of the season but why does he keep doing this nonsensical tough guy thing. Tough guys just laugh off silly provocation which makes a better more intimidating point to the intimidator. Very impressed with what Hiku has shown so far. Not sure about Smith yet, yes he is still very young but can be a bit predictable close to the line but that is probably just down to lack of experience, lets hope he continues do develop.
