I agree that it was probably time for him to go, his apprenticeship wasn't long enough to take on the top job at Saints.
I know they are above us in the league and I've defended Smith when quite a few have called for his head on here maybe the solution for both was to see how the season panned out unless of course they have a top replacement lined up? |

I did wonder why Smith felt the need to say anything, it is not our business and he doesn't have a wider remit to justify commenting.
Perhaps he was feeling a bit itchy that a coach, with a team ahead of us in the league, got the boot for poor performance. |

Smith - he needed more time and support didn't have a long enough apprenticeship. (Coaches needs)
Wane - saints are a demanding club, success etc, (clubs/fans/board needs)
