Dom Crosby is Jack Hughes' best mate so that will have helped him come this way. Also Wigan signing Navarette and Leuluai doesn't come cheap and will mean them having to offload players to create cap space. Wigan fans can smirk and think what they want but he held their No.8 shirt and is a tough solid go forward prop. Williams will be going nowhere. Leuluai and Williams will be 6 & 7 next year for them. Leuluai coming back will have been a huge reason why Matty Smith moved on, couple that with the fact he's a Saints lad then there you go. There was a good number of clubs showing interest In Smith and Wire was one of them. I'm glad we didn't as we have our halves more than covered but when he was a Salford looking for a move we should have snapped him up then. Instead of sticking with the Myler project who is still steadily going downhill.

Looking at it we could do with two more wingers. One high quality one to have Penny as cover for (as Smith clearly doesn't rate Penny despite the contract extension) and one (maybe a young lad) as cover for Lineham

And George King.

Looking at George now I think our injury prone front row last year will be the making of him. He definitely needed game time and improved massively as the season went on. If we never had those injuries I am not sure he would have got the opportunity of a run in the team that he evidently needed. Don't get me wrong he is by no means the finished article but he is a good cover prop who won't let us down.

What is it about his game you like? I must be missing something with king because I don't see him being a super league player long term.

Just his development to be honest, I really didn't rate him for a long time but he put in some solid steady performances at the back end of the season. Enough to convince me that he is on the right track anyway.

If that is the case, we can't have spent much on transfer fees considering we must have grossed an additional £1m this year.

Centres make wingers what they are. That being said Wingers need some sort of nouse to finishing with a try in tight spaces. You'll never get that with Russell. We need 1 centre and 1 winger IMO.
