I've always thought this too. Dunno why. He's always mentioned how he was a Wire as a kid (remember when he used to do random interviews of Super League Superstars?he was at Keith Senior's house and they were talking about the Sheffield v Wigan CC final...Tomkins said he was cheering on Sheff as he was a Wire at the time!)

That really doesn't surprise me: 22 carries and 35 tackles per game in League to 4 carries and 6 tackles pg and 1 or 2 of each when he's a sub.

WEll he would say that. He's got to dangle the carrot enough to make people think that he actually has options.

He's going back to Wigan, end of. He won't play for another RL club and after seeing Burgess struggle in Union, I doubt he would want to go there, especially if Bath, Northamption, Leicester, Sarries or Gloucester pick him up as he may get homesick being in Southern England.

Imagine Tomkins, Penny, Myler and Clark all running off of each other though.

I would have him in a heartbeat but if we are to spend the kind of money required to bring him to the HJ, then, my question is, are there better players out there for that money?

We will have the room on the cap, there's no doubt about that and in this time of unrest at present, signing Tomkins would surely galvanise the club and the town and get people back through the turnstiles.

Not at the minute from where I am, but you never know. Not sure this will come to anything other than Warrior to Warrior

I didn't know Tomkins is a lifelong Wire fan.

Anyone who is a Wire is always a Wire....it's in the blood.

I am reliably informed that I know nothing of this offer from Wire to Tomkins.

All the sensible money is on Tompkins return to Wigan.
