I could understand this salary cap uproar when we signed Andrew Johns or Michael Monaghan, but Matty Smith?? He wouldn't even be first choice in our team, it's a stop gap signing at best, nowhere near the calibre of Finch.

As Ms. cinnamon has stated, Smith's signing is an infill for the kids to come through. I can't see him him getting another contract after this one. The more interesting part of their recruitment will be who they get to partner him.

Wigan's last twenty half-back signings have been infills for the kids to come through. If he's halfway decent, the kids will be off to Widnes. If he's not, he'll be packed off and replaced with an Aussie, with the kids off to Widnes.

i think hes a great player and will shine in a better team. Look at Hill, Myler and Ratchford, all fit in at Wire the same could be said for Matty Smith
