| Quote: Fantastic Mr Catpiss "i'd say kronenburg is a little bit better, i'd consider that a better version of stella, without the wifebeating tendancies, i had a massive thing for that a few years ago.
Stella on the other hand i can't touch, due to a being sick for 5 hours after drinking it for 9 hours incident. Every bit that came up tasted exactly the same and if i even smell it now it takes me back to that exact moment, i cna't eat southern fried chicken either for the exact same reason.
Lager of choice now, for away games mainly is Tuborg, its juuuuuust right.'"
Your middle paragraph, Cat, rings a little true with me, allthough I never ended up staring down the big white telephone.
A large drinking sesh in Blackpool for 10 of us (started at midday, curtailed for an hour or two for food and a shower etc) got us to Yates' at about 1030 ish, when after virtually all day on Stella, we all went on a mad half hour dash on Yates' Aussie White......the smell of it now, 16 years on, makes me heave. HORRIBLE

| I have to say I have a thing for chilled Desperados on a hot day. Beautiful.
Also Heineken, bought anywhere but in the UK, is as good a lager as you can get as well.

| one inexplicably popular lager; Budweiser.
Pretty much ubiquitous when you go to Florida, the only decent American beers you can have as an alternative are Samuel Adams Boston or Michelob Ultra which are like a heavier, brown ale.

I'd rather steep my own socks in tepid water, after 36 holes of golf in hot weather, anfd then drink it, than have Budweiser...truly awful
Now, the Czech Budvar on the other hand.....MMMMMM
San Miguel, Cat, I find to be lovely, but only drinking it very occasionally, as I quickly get bored of it
An absolute BELTER I'm drinking at the mo, is alcoholic Ginger Beer
Not the expensive Crabbie's stuff @ £2 odd in supermarkets, but the Aldi equivalent, called Church's Ginger Ale...it's FANTASTICHE, and 70p a bottle cheaper, good value

| Proper draught Greenalls Bitter, from a hand pump or the electric pumps you only used to see in the North ( they had a glass cylinder on the bar where you could see the beer being drawn into ) was a very fine pint indeed. Thomas Greenalls Original was even better, but not widely distributed. Ironically, you could get it for while in the late 1990s in Milton Keynes and a few other far-flung locations when Greenalls owned a pub/restaurant chain.
Festival was from the dark period when fizzy keg beers were trying to take over. Every brewer had one, with Double Diamond probably the most famous. All such beers were fundamentally chemical crap but very profitable. Thanks to the efforts of CAMRA, they have largely disappeared.
