| It'll be interesting to see how that side of his character goes in Australia. I don't think Saints have even tried to stop him as he's never been sent off that I'm aware and has put in season after season of ridiculously brilliant and consistent performances for us.
Will they tell him to 'calm down, calm down' or will they use him like they did Morley and tell him to get stuck in. In an environment with a couple of other senior props where he could do proper spells his impact could improve a lot and with the superior coaching and opposition he could develop nicely.

| No doubt that Graham is a tough guy and a quality player. But his on-field whingeing is contrary to the spirit of the game, so Saints fans can hardly be surprised that other teams love seeing him suffer. He was clobbered round the park last night and I'm sure he'd rather have given the game a miss.

| Quote: Saints_fan_6 "I can garuntee that you would take James Graham in flash! He's been the top metres maker for the last two years! He got elbowed in the face on his first tackle and you expect him not to say anything to the ref? It's a sport that shouldn't make it legal for someone to elbow someone else in the face! And as for a well beaten pack we made a hell of a lot of metres for a well beaten pack, we got into your half on many occasions then the backs couldn't produce against a magnificent defence, may of been different with perry and pryce but Warrington played what was put in front of them'"
i'd always expect him to say something to the ref, its getting the moaning to shut up thats the trick.

1883.jpg Didn't William Webb Ellis pick up the ball and run, someone should really tell Rugby Union.

| I thought with the inclusion of another out-and-out prop in LMS to assist Graham, he would have kicked on from last season, where he was excellent. On last night's showing it appears to have had the opposite effect.

| Quote: Saddened! "The mist of a good win descends. The fact your team won doesn't make the opposition all turn into gibbering wrecks. I'll bet he still got through a good 120m with the ball last night and probably a good 25 tackles.
You have to remember that Graham is waiting for Josh Perry's introduction before he'll be able to do anything less than a knackering 70 minutes. I bet you would see a lot more fire from Graham if he were allowed to do 30 minutes in a game like Morley did last night.'"
do the runs and short passes that graham makes count as metres made ? he made a good bit of ground out wide last night he had to go there to avoid Carvell and Morley though
when Comparing Adrian Morley to James Graham You need something different like a "soiled under pant index" or something.
if Morely made only five meters last night and James graham 120 he would have still been a very long distance behind Morely in terms of performance and effectiveness....
Anyway this is the wrong board for meters made stats...there's a thread on the Wigan board entitled Pat Richards greatest Metre maker ever....jump in

Morley wasn't one of your best players last night. Don't go getting all blurry eyed about him. Solid but nothing more. No particularly big hits and absolutely nothing with the ball. Carvell was your best forward, then the likes of Westwood, Wood and Anderson. It wouldn't surprise me if Morley got a knock himself last night given how long he spent on the bench.

LMS just replaced Bryn Hargreaves. Josh Perry is the man that should help James Graham.

| I've got to admit i'm with flying biscuit on this. Graham is good, but he is ridiculously overrated. There is more to being a prop and pack leader that simply making metres. You have to go out and try to bully and intimidate the opposition. I'm not condoning fighting or illegal play, and i may be wrong on this, but i've never seen graham going toe to toe in a dust up with an opposition forward. All the best props have done this for as long as i can remember. Last night he took an elbow to the chin. If that had been Morley, peacock, webke, boyd, skerrett etc chances are that a brawl would have started. Graham's immediate reaction is to turn to the referee and have a whinge.

| I'd say Graham's justified in complaining to the ref, personally.
However, it would have been much more fun if he had instigated a massive scrap.

Granted, but what would you lot be saying about him if he lamped Morley and got himself sent off? The talk wouldn't be "Oh look at Graham, he's an awesome prop, he's just pwned Morley". It would be, "Haha Morley pwned Graham, got the petulant baby sent off" etc. The incident was another example of the complete inadequacy of the competence of Super League referees. Graham did absolutely nothing wrong and was elbowed in the face. The referee saw that as a penalty to Warrington. One can only assume that had Graham punched him he would have been sent off for striking an opponent and in league you typically are sent off if only one player is doing the punching.
Bizarre and ridiculous and given the standard of the officials it is no wonder football style appealing and gesticulating at the ref is creeping into the sport as a whole. Most of the time the players appealing are 100% right.

Utter rubbish. Phil Clarke-esque.
