There is no way of defining a "true fan", I suppose that from time to time there are just people who take being one fan to a greater extreme than is usual (for example the people that attend every single game in the season, or deck their house out in primrose and blue etc).
I know a guy who followed Warrington all his life but hasn't been to a game (not even Wembley) over the past few years due to awful health. He still does all he can to follow and support the club. Nobody is going to call him "not a true fan".
As for glory supporters. I think they are a good thing. They are a sign of success that can only bring extra revenue and prestige to the club.
What I dislike about glory supporters;
A) the small minority that seem to place alcohol and fighting above rugby,
B) the way in which they (often) tend to be the quickest ones to start complaining when we don't win every single game,
C) people who make ridiculous comments after seeing one game (e.g. my next door neighbour went to Wembley and it was his first ever RL match, when he saw me the next day he had a five minute rant about the ref, WTF).'"
For a good few that will be the case.
The ones that pick and choose to go or not are the one's I am on about. |

Mr Barber,
Great post, I guess that eventually some if not a lot of glory hunters will disappear when we hit a dip in form, but say we gain an extra 1k in true fans that continue to support and promote the club.
Everything should be done to embrace new fans.

Why does this bother you? Does it affect your enjoyment of the game? I, and the team, were glad these 'Glory fans' went to Wembley and acted as the 'eighteenth man'. I took three with me.
So bring them on, more glory fans to cheer us all the way to the GF. |

Its the way they do it though, in less meanful games you have to wonder why they don't go or even want to go.

Is it really that hard for you to understand?
A fan in my view is someone who doesn't just go Wembley, lets face in over 50% of them are only going for the day on the lash and may have been to the HJ a few times if your lucky.
