Raiders still have an option on him.

Doesn’t work like that unfortunately, his Wire salary for whole season remains on the Cap as I understand it.

| Looks as though Alffi is correct. I have had a riveting read through the RFl regs (section 5.8, salary cap) and it says that a loan for a SL club is viewed the same as a permanent deal and hence the player comes off the loaning clubs salary cap. Apologies.
That still begs the question as to why the club has done it. Was he a disruptive influence (intentionally or not)? Or did the club want the headroom to bring in another prop ? We are quite close to the business end of the season after all.

| I gave an angle. Shot down.
Is it not in the interest of Wire to keep Leeds in SL....and get in there 1st with a forward ineligible to play against us too?

| It seems pretty drastic to ship someone out on loan when the team is light in that department without some aggravating issue behind the scenes that needs to be resolved. We criticise Asotasi & Akaola for lack of on field minutes but Crosby must only have been beaten in that department by Mitchell Dodds.

| Were Dom Crosby, upon crossing the pennines, to transform into Greg Inglis circa 2013 then your madness may have some merit. As it stands you are suggesting that us loaning Leeds a (at present) well below average prop forward is an underhand attempt to keep Leeds in Super League to benefit all?? You think Moran rang Leneghan and McManus and they all decided 'sorry simon but yes send them Dom Crosby...it has to be done'..as they shone the silhouette of his sicknote into the Yorkshire night sky.

| The league needs to stop this practice of big teams signing a gun player on a short term deal when they are threatened with the qualifiers as it ruins the competition.
In 2016 Leeds brought James Segeyaro and in 2017 we signed Peta Hiku. Now Leeds have got Crosby.
How would you feel if you were a Toulouse or Featherstone player now, why even bother.

| I agree with you but I'm not sure how much difference Dom will make to that Leeds team.

Thanks, saved me having to read it again!! No apology needed, they are hardly the best document to be looking through
I can only think we have someone lined up to come in - why else release him? Even if he only plays 25% of the remaining games he would be more useful than not having him around?
Can’t really see him being a disruptive influence, doesn’t really strike me as that type of player.

There could be enough to get them the edge in muscle over Widnes. However they are in real danger if they don't get bodies back soon.

| I wonder if Lineham would be a target for Leeds? Rumour is Hall to the Roosters in the NRL.

Apparently not. He is reportedly off to the Roosters as Blake Ferguson's replacement.
I say all that very knowledgably, but actually I don't follow the NRL, I just read it here; https://wwos.nine.com.au/2018/07/16/20/ ... eplacement.
Uncle Gary must be tearing his hair out - he will not get a penny from the deal if it all goes through.

| Pretty much nailed on Hally going to the Roosters it seems.
But we already have his replacement lined up which will certainly make you quake in your boots.
Luke Briscoe looks like he will be coming back to Leeds
