| Quote Dita's Slot Meter="Dita's Slot Meter"Definitely agree.
Wardle looks like the centre that we hoped that King could develop into & I'd be making big efforts to sign him permanently if he continues to show this form (Hopefully King shows up well at Huddersfield & a simple swap can be made).
Mikaele looks like an absolute beast. If we can get 40 minutes of him at his best every week, then he's a massive positive for what we hope to become.
Harrison looks like he could become the long term Hill replacement. Honest, hard-working and quietly effective, he has a great future if he can stay fit now.
As for Matty Nicholson, we've stole a good one off Wigan haven't we?... Only issue I see is that the NRL are going to be sniffing around him very soon, he looks that good.
P.S. Jason Clark as a back up hooker, who'd have thought?.....
'"
Wardle was fantastic, I hope signing him permanently is an option for us.

| Phil Clarke keeps banging on about how our supporters have turned against the club and raised the pressure. I hate to agree with him.
But I am afraid our "supporters" ... who sometimes pay their hard earned money to watch Wire ... have been a friggin' disgrace.
The team have been poor but one or two of our
"supporters" have been below that.

| Thought everyone played above average bar Matautia, had possibly his quietest game for us so far this season. Last 15 minutes scrappy as hell but in the heat and the desire to still hold up defensively its more than forgiven. Wardle and Ashton could be electric going forward. Mikaele had a brilliant contribution, really impressed!

| Exciting to see what we can be capable of when we fire.
But I thought our defence, both structurally and technique, was excellent. How many times did we turn a Cats playerr around and take them back towards their own line? This set the platform and the rest flowed naturally.

| What a relief.
What gets me is we win a game and everyone is so positive. We lose by a few points and it's sack everyone. This cannot be right ... can it?

He looks like the type of centre that Ashton will absolutely thrive off playing outside of. Tall and rangy, he's got the look of a Matt King type, who will take the attention of 2 or 3 defenders, allowing Ashton space to use his pace.
Be interesting to know what exactly the deal is between us and Huddersfield over King and Wardle.. surely if both do a job between now and the end of the season, it makes sense for all parties to go for a simple swap, unless the rumours of Wardle to Wigan are indeed true?

We don't just lose a game, we lose lots of games, badly. That's what is right !
Today at last we win and we win well, that is probably why people are positive with relief.

| Was great to see the new lads play well, but to be fair was nice to see some players who have (rightly) copped flak show that rhey still have something to offer.
Currie, Holmes, Ratchford, Williams and D Clarke all had their best ganes in some time. Ratchford in.parricular was very vocal and seemed to be geeing people up when they needed it.

We don't get beaten heavily though, that's the point of Smiffy's post, we get beaten through a lack of confidence or an inability to see off sides who we get the better of at points in a game.
Today, admittedly against a weakened Catalans, we took control of a game and managed to maintain our standards, while keeping the opposition confined to panic rugby.
No doubt we will continue to throw in performances that are nowhere near this one, but if between now and season's end, we can show flashes like today, then I'm happy to let the Powell project continue.
P.S.. Just as a history lesson, go and ask the older posters how the 85/86 season unfolded and how underwhelming it was until the last 2 months of the season....

No way a MotM from us. Just a brilliant team performance. A good[i 2 fingers[/i from Dean to Powell, as to what he (Dean) can do.
No resting on your laurels now, Wire. Onwards and upwards.
As an aside
### off Sky. Willing us to mess it up, from 20 minutes onwards. And can Phil Clarke be taken into a secluded field, and be shot?
TURD.'"
A good two fingers up to Powell you say. Perhaps there was a reason behind the scenes why he wasn't promoted as quickly as you'd have liked.
It be hard for you Tosh, to give credit to Powell, but credit where credit's due. A long way to go but definite signs of the quality coach he is.
I don't think anyone will be giving Powell two fingers after that performance.
Long way to go as I say, but keep the faith.

We don't get beaten heavily? Look at the results this season, we have been tonked on many a occasion.
Thanks for the suggestion of a history lesson...I have supported Warrington since 1958, so if you want a history lesson I would be delighted to help.
