| Wonder where this puts the ‘Wardle to Wigan to replace Bibby done deal’ for 2023?

Do we know why Wardle is unhappy?

| Can’t decide myself what to make of the deal. Disappointed that another young lad we’ve brought through our system hasn’t made it playing for us. However since signing the new contract last season which must of been with Daryl Powell’s input he has regressed rather than progressed. They’ve obviously had words and fell out.
The salary cap obviously comes into it as well and the deal we’ve given him is too high and must not fit in with the team Powell is trying to assemble. The new Wrench and Thewlis long term contracts are taking more money than originally anticipated.
My other concern would be the contract Joe Philbin as been given and money it takes on the salary cap. I was shot down in flames by a couple of posters 18 months ago when stating at the time he was way out of form since signing the long term deal. I genuinely now can’t see him fitting in the team next year.
Back to King, maybe Ian Watson can get better out of him and he can go on and be a great player. To be fair to Watson he’s done it numerous times. If Toby’s form improves again under different coaching it could be a straight shootout between him and Wardle for a World Cup place. For me however the right deal as been struck because personally Toby needs a new environment and he’s not as good as the man he replaced and won’t be in Ryan Atkinson.

Because he isn’t getting picked.
And quite rightly so given the form of other players in the squad. Wardle struggled massively with injuries has done since academy days and was very lucky to be playing at all given He was out for two years during his early playing days. Unfortunately that’s given others the opportunity to shine.
Interesting that every other player at giants declined to play in the mid season international except him. They’ve decided to focus on their club.
Watson has a habit of not playing players who say they are moving on the next season as he doesn’t see them as committed. Whether that’s anything to do with this who knows given rumours.
Personally I think wire have the better deal here. But let’s see.

Spot on..Powell's in charge and any problems he sees with this lot then get shut...it's what's needed and we.ll be better off for it

Some suggestions include
Not happy to play second fiddle to cudjoe or leutele as wants to look at chance if WC place
Also
Possibly not willing to buy into the team ethos and processes that Watson likes .
Also not sure if we are having some salary cap issues to keep leutele and possibly pryce who may be going down under
I like Wardle but every season I think this is his time to shine .
Plays 4 games and is then out injured. His brother also struggled with injuries.
I wish him the best but feel at he minute we may have got the best deal . Time will tell

Ha ha ha, outstanding timing from me there. It's still a strange(ish) one. Watson won't play Wardle and Powell seems to rate King. I can't see King being made permanent though unless he sees him as a second rower maybe. Wonder where that leaves Wardle in terms of long term. All in all though it's a great deal for Warrington.

| I think also, he has obviously seen enough of King to deem him not good enough. To just ship off a player with no hint of him being dropped is a big statement to the rest of your squad. He can obviously see your weaknesses. You are going to have a bad season, maybe next year too but i'd say now is the time for Warrington fans to back Powell. He clearly knows who is and isn't right for the club.Pity he won't be able to offload Williams though. You are stuck with that one but even though the props you have signed are ageing they will come in and do a job for a couple of years until the only area you need to improve will be the prop department again. A row of steady props gives him time to build everything else in behind frst. It's a very positive step for Wire. The big question though is can he offload the big wage guys permanently.

It makes sense to do a swap to me.
Hudds will be wanting a replacement for Wardle and King fits the shoe. Like for like.
Powell is probably had enough of the none excuse lapses like Perpignan. Powell is going for a stern ship. I like it too.
So it’s in everyone interest the swap happened. Even with Wardle heading to the pie dome.
I had heard yesterday about it.

Williams isn’t performing at the moment, but he is putting the effort in. I think Powell is a fan and has seen something he likes in Williams. Although I’m a bit peed off at some of his decisions this year I’m reserving judgment on Williams until next season behind a proper pack.

I hope King is prepared to fight his way into those centre spots then, unless Watson has plans for him in the second row?

When I first read it, I though that you were saying that Powell is going for astern ship.... hope not.
If the Hartshead Service Station rumours are accurate, perhaps getting off the coach to get away from the Coach might be renamed 'A Hardaker', didn't Zak use it to engineer his recent move from Wigan to Leeds following an away game at Wakefield?
