Yes it was a testimonial .

I was at the game and remember it as for John Parry Gordon in1981.

Bev came on about 5 mins from the end on the left wing with the crowd willing him to score.
The Wires got him away but Wilderspool Villan Mick Adams Rolled him over.

Into the last minute and they got the ball out left again to Bev who evaded half a dozen tackles to touch down in the left hand corner at the Fletcher Street End.

I was there too.

Is Parry Gordon the longest single player servant of our club?...perhaps even RL?

In terms of one club players, I would say JPG holds the record to both, RD.

Did Brian Bevan play in more than one testimonial, as I'm fairly sure he started one game on the right wing. Unless it was the same game and he came back on, but on the other wing?
I jumped over the wall while the game was in progress and he kindly signed an autograph for me. The things you did and could get away with when you were (considerably) younger.
