You see more of him than me, for me, he never looks anything more than ordinary in the backrow, as you say on Monday he was poor.'"
I agree with you. I feel the same about Brett Delaney at Leeds, I think he's a poor player too.
Soliola was hyped up to be the best thing since sliced bread when it was announced he was signing for Saints by a few Saints fans too. He's failed to impress me, as of yet, as has Delaney.

Delaney makes Soliola looks like Tallis.
Potter hyped Soliola too, I remember him being really pleased to get him and about what he'd add to the backline. In fairness, he got a bad injury but he's just not a centre, but I guess it's a case now of Saints trying to find a job that he can do now.
Maybe the best is yet to come.

| Please please Bluey, listen to this, Soliola is rubbish and should not be picked.
Add to that Puletua is a pile of steaming horse dung and also should not be picked. Please please please pick someone else and save us from those 2 players.

Quote: morleys_deckchair "I see warrington have the biggest contingent of players from any superleague club.. and thats WITHOUT our best overseas signing being included...
The New Zealand coach McClennan only got to pick 5 of his own players... These are as follows.
Louis Anderson - New Zealand
David Fa’alogo - New Zealand
David Faiumu - New Zealand
Kylie Leuluai - New Zealand
Iosia Soliola - New Zealand
Automatically selected players
Danny Buderus (captain) (Leeds Rhinos & Australia)
Thomas Leuluai (vice captain, Wigan Warriors & New Zealand)
Fans picks
George Carmont (Wigan Warriors & New Zealand)
Rangi Chase (Castleford Tigers & New Zealand)
Craig Fitzgibbon (Hull FC & Australia)
Brett Hodgson (Warrington Wolves & Australia)
Matt King (Warrington Wolves & Australia)
Steve Menzies (Catalan Dragons & Australia)
Joel Monaghan (Warrington Wolves & Australia)
Luke O’Donnell (Huddersfield Giants & Australia)
Mark O’Meley (Hull FC & Australia)
Tony Puletua (St Helens & New Zealand)
Pat Richards (Wigan Warriors & Australia)
They're going to have a tasty pack, thats for sure.
Apart from not having their best hooker at their disposal...... Do people feel this squad is missing anyone?'"
ps I thought puletua was a coaches pick???

The former New Zealand international is the fourth pick of coach Brian McClennan, joining Thomas Leuluai (Wigan), Luke O'Donnell (Huddersfield) and captain Danny Buderus (Leeds) as virtual certainties for the match at Headingley on June 10.

Yeh, bit weird this. It seems he picked 5 players - the four you mention plus Joel Monas. But then the 13 fans picks were put in the squad and this 13 included the 5 already announced. So he then picked another 5.
Now M Monas is in, it's intriguing to see which 3 Wires will make the final selection. The 2 Monas's and LAnderson have been picked by McClennan, so it could be that Hodgson and King don't make it. But there's no other fullback unless Webb gets brought in, so Hodgson might still make it. Might all change depending on injuries of course.

| Soliola is far from rubbish. He's had a very good season in the second row. He is playing far more minutes than he should be IMO, and that resulted in him playing poorly against Hull. But that game aside he's been very impressive.
The Exiles squad will suffer loads of injuries. The majority will happen before the game begins I feel

| Is the limit of 3 players or a strict one, or could all 5 players play if Tony said it was okay?

| It is funny how there are a lot more NSW player in SL currently that there is Queenslanders. You could almost put a team out consisting of NSW players that have played for the blues over the last 6 or 7 years
1 Hodgson
2 king
3 Menzies
4
5 Monaghan
6 Finch
7
8 O'Meley
9 Bederus
10 Perry
11 Hoffman
12 O'Donnell
O'Hara
I wonder why that is?
13 Fitzgibbon
O'Hara

because the queenslanders are too good to come over here, they keep earning a wage over there.

Depends how the Exiles approach it. If serious I reckon they would give Australia a decent game. They could just as easily go into it half hearted and lose to England by 30.
