The games on the 29th are to accommodate Leeds involvement in the World Club Championship and Harlequins playing Melbourne in a friendly. It is not a full round of fixtures.

First full round of fixtures is 6th February.

I guess the only other circumstance for a club playing early would be if that club had so little say in relation to the running of the ground where they play that the landlord decided to re-lay the pitch smack bang in the middle of the Super League season.

Don't forget Catalans at Barcelona and Wigan in New York.
