When describing Penny that word should never be used, granted King had a few defencive frailty's but not half as many as Penny and the decision to drop Penny was spot-on. at the end of the day a coach that knows the game inside out has made him 4th choice winger and that cant be argued, i would probably put a reserve winger before him also.

I suspect that his confidence was shot from the abuse and ill founded criticism levelled at him. I didn't say he was the finished article but to dismiss him in the way you do is unjustified.

Would be good to see him go out on loan the rest of this season and possibly next season to a SL club, let someone like John Kear to coach him. We are spoilt for chioce at the moment but Hicks and Carney won't last forever and one injury to Mathers and Riley has to play fullback

It's no good bunging him in for a game, then him missing five and so on. He's had one opportunity this year, and was arguably our best player on a largely disappointing day.

I'm a bit tired of defending him to be honest, folk just seem intent on running him down, I'm not quite sure what he's done wrong, other than look mega enthusiastic & appear to love playing for team & club. Whenever I have seen him I have never been impressed. Yes he is fast and scores some great tries but he is weak and gets constantly driven back in the tackle, his positional play is terrible, he looks weak under the high ball, his defence is poor. He just doesn't do it for me. Poor mans Paul White.

Penny has scored tries that the likes of Gardner, Raynor, Smith, calderwood(all GB wingers) can only dream about. That is a fact. Yes he has a lot to learn, every young player has, but that does not excuse blaming him for every try scored in his corner. As far as i can recall, there were only 2 tries conceded that were genuinely his fault. HKR at home(the last one which won them the game!) and the one against saints in the cup straight after he had scored the try of the season. Catalans scored a good try on rileys wing on Saturday. It wasn't his fault, but if it had been Penny it would've been. Some people are complete idiots.

We should trust TS on this one. He thinks he needs to improve his game so the positives of his performance vastly outweigh the negatives and he becomes the best player we can have in that position. TS hopes he can do this at Widnes, and so do I.
