15810.jpg Union is played by people who close airports after a bit of snow, League is played by people who would go and have a snowball fight with a 747

Scrum half?
Right now, Orford. Maybe with Myler as back up. I have no qualms with Briers staying on at stand off. We're seeing a revitalised Briers and we're winning games because of it.

sorry i meant stand off
i get the impression briers form has been sparked by the fact that he needs a new contract from somewhere.
i fear that if we gave him a new one he would go back to his comfort zone and start playing within himself again.

I don't think we have a coach who would let him get away with that anymore.
McGuire would be a great signing, but you could get Dobson for less and he'd do just as good a job

You're right he's a scrum half not a stand off. Some people on here don't seem to know the difference between the two.

| Dobson isnt good enough in my opinion , he could not make it in the Nrl. Would rather have Myler or a genuine top first grader from Aus.

Tomkins would improve vastly under the tenure of a better coach in my opinion.
Wigan aren't exactly impressing too much anywhere on the field, apart from Ainscough.

1883.jpg Didn't William Webb Ellis pick up the ball and run, someone should really tell Rugby Union.

I've never seen what the big hoo-ha is about Dobson. Good kicker and that is it.

A scrum half is usually the first receiver and is there to give the ball to the forwards.
A stand-off would usually play at second receiver and distribute the ball to the backs.
Both usually have kicking games, but the 7 is usually more of an organiser, and the 6 more of a ball runner.
That's my basic understanding anyway, but I realise there is less distinction between the two roles in the modern game.

| good reply. but all the talk on here of it is like they are 2 specialist positions . its nonsense its just like your two backs in footy or your two centre midfielders in footy. a good player can play both roles 6+7 no danger.
