| Streets ahead of this time last year, so even if, in that second half, we're not scoring against a side that never looked like doing the same, I suppose we can't complain. Teenage me would've snapped your hand off if you'd offered him wire finishing third, plus beating Wigan AND saints in a season and reaching the CCF. And 36 year-old me last year would have too! Guess perspective helps sometimes.

Yes, I'd be surprised if we don't hear more on that.

| Love the energy and ferocity in defence that Yates has brought to us. Also thought Philbin was exceptional today. Scratchy in attack but I’ll take the win.

Philbin v Saints is a tale as old as time. He is always twice the player against them.

| Think we setting ourselves up nicely. Win next two games and hoping for a loss in another we get home advantage.
Maybe our year? Balls to the songs, imagine, would they fade away? No they wouldn’t. But what difference it would make.
I feel more about us than I ever did same has I did under smith.
For me only KR stand out. Wiggin I’m more confident this time.
I’m happy we keep rolling games over the playoffs where it counts.
Never stop believing because when you do your as good as dead.
Up the wire!!!

| What a dreadful side Saints are and wonderful to see how many of them turned up today knowing they were getting beat. Worst gathering/performance from them in over 20 years…..beautiful to see.

| Won at a canter. Never really in doubt, they didn’t really look like scoring despite having quite a bit of field position. They can say what they like about injuries, but Walmsley, Matautia and Bachelor let them down the most, the kids did a decent job for them.
They did an effective job on slowing the game down, but it was mind numbingly slow. Kendall didn’t help it, but we knew that on the way in.
Excellent performances from Currie, King and Musgrove. Bateman was physical, if unspectacular. Williams was off on his execution, but we had enough gears to go through if we ever needed it.
The resilience to keep them scoreless, including a last ditched effort from CTW, is just superb to see. Un-Warrington-like.

| Despite what saints might think I believe they’re in trouble for a while. Feldt is a good signing as are sailor and Murphy (potentially) but their succession planning has been excellent for two decades and it now looks as ropey as their youngsters. If they think Briers has the answers good luck to em.

| It was a tight game from both sides, I would have liked to have seen a couple of off loads later on for our broken play speeders to take advantage of. How times change when our fans are complaining that we only beat Saints scoring two tries.

Huge job to turn them around, probably as big a task as Sam's for us. Saints biggest problem (apart from Wellens) is that so many of their key players are coming to the end of their careers. Walmsley looks done and dusted to me, he's been great for them but is now a shadow of what he was.

Exactly, take the two points and the positives, and for me there were plenty to be had considering we were missing our starting props and our top strike player.
In no particular order, great balance at hooker whether it's either one on or both, Currie's hands Williams putting in a shift tackling, Bateman improving week on week, Philbin and Musgrove ripping in, CTW's positional play safe hands and that running threat, Fitzgibbon looking like he's back, Ashton say no more and Yates grinning every time he put a tackle in.
Without wishing to jinx anything we look like a team and we are a team with a chance.

| Did Fitzgibbon come back on in the second half?
Also, agree with the above about Walmsley to a point, but we could see he was blowing after 14/15 minutes, Wellens mustn’t watch the same game. He drops it cold then walks opening the gap for Ashton to score. How he was on the field shows that bit of desperation, I think.

He was showered and changed at the final hooter although he didn"t look to be in any discomfort and was chatting and laughing with a couple of Saints players.

No, he only done 30 mins total. Not seen anything saying he got a knock.

| Walmsley looks done, he looks like he can't be bothered, never mind unfit.
Welsby pulled out of contact on a couple of occasions as well, nowhere near fit.
Matautia got smashed lots today in defence roddy wasn't having any of it
