| Big well done to Catalans & great to see a new name on the trophy. The win was thoroughly deserved & the front foot rugby was the prime winner for les Cats ,something we couldn't live with ,& their ability to go full length on a set of six tackles was the killer that the Wire couldn't deal with or replicate.

| Still struggling to fathom where that performance came from yesterday. We've played so well in every other round of the cup and then suddenly returned to our early season standards in the final. Brown kicking out on the full, lineham going for the try line on tackle one and going into touch, patton not finding touch with a penalty, headless chicken style attack in the opposition 20, did charnley even touch the ball? Credit to catalan though, we simply couldn't make metres in the first half.

One thing for certain ... it is better than being knocked out in the first round or not getting to the final. But still hard to swallow.
I've never played in a bridesmaid's dress and I can't see it helping much.

| Out enthused is what annoys the most.
Roberts and Brown were woeful. Clark and Goodwin clearly not fit.
The cas game really hurt us imo.

| Quote Budgiezilla="Budgiezilla"Widnes would have given Warrington a game today. Terrible game, matched by the pathetic attendance (not your fault I know)'"
As a neutral, couldn't disagree more ( attendance aside)Classic final and spectacle for the game, committment, drama from both sides of which Warrington played a massive part .

| I think we picked up a few injuries v. Cas ... but we'll never find out. There were several limping about. The truth tends to come out at the end of the season when we usually send players to the various surgeons.
BMM looks a real problem.

| I think we've overlooked the failings of Price here.
We had the team looking far too relaxed and played the occasion not the game for the first 50 mins.
That wouldn't of happened under Tony Smith.

| Our deficiencies were all there to see yesterday.
A huge improvement on last season but our halves are nowhere near as good as Catalans’, our size strength and pace in the pack is nowhere near as good as Catalans’...
And our back row has got no attacking game about them at all. What did Livett and Hughes bring to the game with the ball in hand? What do they ever? Westwood seems to make good hard runs but he’s not a prop, he’s the loose and he has no passing game about him at all.
Catalans have better players than us in almost all departments. The better team deservedly won and we have a lot to do to this team.
Our 8 game winning streak all came against lower sides in the table bar Castleford at the time. And that run has scued the view of how good we are.

| As a neutral it was a great game to watch, utterly captivating viewing. In the second half momentum swung back and to like two tired fighters throwing everything they've got as they stagger around the ring on their last legs.
Obviously because you've lost there is a post-mortem being carried out and a lot of posts like the one above mine are very dismissive of the side and it's qualities. You had more than enough talent on show to win that game. Even with minutes to go, the game was there for the taking. You just panicked, completely bottled it. You were trying to score off every play when a bit of composure would have been enough. The best examples of that were Ratchford's pass to Lineham which cut out about three players when you had a five on three overlap. Just run and pass, simple try. Another was when you were camped on the line and Lineham tries to slide over on the outside on the first tackle and it was just never on.
I think resolving that issue is the difference between Warrington being ultra competitive next year or next year being just another year. Blake Austin is a fine player, but he's another who shoots from the hip. Patton isn't showing any signs of turning into that player either.

| Worst final performance I can recall by a Warrington side. They did not simply have the desire or commitment of Catalan and unfortunately most of our key players went AWOL during the game. Maybe they were injured, maybe they lacked the desire or maybe they're just not good enough to break down opposition defences. Whatever the reason, it needs sorting, otherwise we're going to be experiencing many more of these depressing post cup final Sundays.

Given what he said at half time and after the game, it will be interesting to see how Price deals with the players not following the game plan. Was it the team as a whole or just certain players ? Unfortunately we might never know, as we dont know how things went in training.

| Ridiculous to suggest they lacked the desire. Some combination of Catalans being better on the day, Roberts/Brown playing as they have most of the year (i.e. with little imagine action or flair), Ratchford and Clark both being very quiet, overall every player (bar T King) playing a little below their norm. All adds up to a defeat. Life's not long enough to dwell on it - Hull will come up very quickly.
