He balsed up two tries on Saturday that in 2008 he would have finished off and with panache. And these are not the first two tries he has balsed up. He did the same thing plenty of times last season and there was often a competition between him and Meli to see who was the worst at catching the high ball. Gardner had conquered that problem under Anderson. Potter has exposed it.

Go find a post in which anyone has said Eastmond is crap or we should get rid of Graham. We have said Pryce is not contributing and Gardner won't be missed. We watch Saints week in, week out, so we know what we are talking about. You don't.

Gardner is not performing under Potter. In fact, he is a liability. He will not be missed and I would much, much rather have either Lomax or Wheeler playing in his place. That is a view shared by most Saints fans who post on here and it is certainly the view of those Saints fans I hear about me on the terraces. That is not based on one match; it is based on all last season PLUS one match.

Gardner has never been one of the best wingers in the game in my opinion. He's just been very fortunate to have world class centres inside him. And yes, yes, I know a winger's job is about scoring tries, but when you use the term 'best', I'm reminded of the likes of Robinson, Vainokolo, Sailor etc - not Gardner!!
