| We've either been incredibly unlucky or incredibly stupid or both. Sounds like Maguire was sounded out ages ago but was never nailed down.
Then with Pay it would appear that The Dogs acted immediately to get rid of Hasler once there was a potential we could snare him.
But what's plan C if the others were plan A and B?
Sounds like we've just gone after the first aussie accent to declare an interest.

It's easy to sit back and criticise though isn't it? We aimed high and went for Madge, should we have done different? He's said no. We went for the next best recognised coach on the block, Pay. I think you're right, I think the dogs acted when they saw how serious we were to bring him over.
I think you could agree, we can't compete for Pay with the Dogs.
So where next? Maybe Brennan wants an NRL gig, maybe Henry is keen to hang up his boots, Hasler has a court case to fight. We (and by we I mean SL) aren't the draw we want to be.
We need huge changes in our sport, I'm hoping they've started happening but we need to push our comp forward to catch up to the NRL.

Hardly surprising though, Standard of SuperLeague is second rate, so when a novice CEO goes to Aus why be shocked when he comes back with a second rate coach and probably some 3rd rate players

| The thing that's grinding me, and I know we don't know the why's and what fors, but we've gone with a proven failure as a head coach.
I'm so disappointed we never went for Brennan and missed out on Pay. I know neither have top grade experience but they're standing in the game is highly regarded and both are touted as future NRL coaches (one now is).
It could be that Brennan turned us down and price is the only interested party. Sad if true.
If Maguire turns up at Wigan in a few weeks I'll be fuming.

| Maybe it's the other Steve Price. He's not a great coach either but he's an enforcer and might give some of our players the kick up the Jacksie they need

| It's common knowledge that Brennan wouldn't move his family overseas.
Can we at least give Price a chance? He wants to be here, none of the others did. He's won 2 grand finals as an assistant, Wayne Bennett's hold him in very high regard. Yes he failed as a number one, but lets hope he's learnt from that. From what I've read of him he's seems hard work and wary of the media but players always speak very highly of him.

| And the betting as gone again, hope some got a bet on from what I said in earlier post. On another note as others have said this is really dragging on far to long. How long did Noah take to build the Ark.

| @johnnydavidson - Reliable League Express journo just tweeted:
"The plot thickens connected Aussie source says Steve Price 'in the mix but by no means a good thing' to get Warrington job. Hmm"

| Not entirely sure Price is any better than the many potentials in the UK who deserve to be interviewed.
It appears we are only interested in Aussie accents. Looking through the successful teams this year in Super League, strong English contingent and Keiron Cunningham.

Well said , we could be paying over the odds for what we already have in our own pool of available coaches.

| Where's the actual evidence that we've not sounded out any British coaches?
