He was loaned out to Bradford to get fit as he hadn't been playing. Came into the team when we had a lot of forwards injured but we have some back now and others close. Didn't get much chance in attack but very reliable in defence and a bit of a workhorse with a good engine.

I read "it's OK if it's a direct replacement for Blythe" and smiled to myself. No wonder we are gash with that attitude.

Hodkinson Move

Trent Hodkinson has been linked with a move to Warrington

Could Trent Hodkinson be in line to replace Gidley at Warrington next year?

It's been a challenging season in the NRL for Hodkinson, and the playmaker has been linked with a move to Super League.

The Newcastle halfback played in just his eighth NRL game of the season on Sunday against the Tigers, having spent the previous seven on the bench, and it's believed he's weighing up his options.

He would be a good controlling half in SL. A good kicker too. Would be a good piece of a far from complete jigsaw. Get him signed

It's not a controlling standoff type half we need, we've got enough of them...it's a running attacking back like Sandow...love him hate him...we were pants without him and we haven't replaced him.

There are only 3 players in the whole squad not afraid to run at thr line. Currie and he's out. Clark and he doesn't play 80mins and Atkins who can't pass.
Therein lies an issue....no attacking playmaker throughout our team since Sandow left.

We spend nearly all the game defending...well let me tell you this...the biggest kidding yourself in rl is defence wins games....it wins shat....attack attack attack
The best defence is attack....look at Cas and with Wire in 2011... hardly any tackles made per game.

I'm with you on this Rubber. If you score a try you get the ball back or if you almost score the opposition gets the ball near their own line. Our attack has been a real problem.

Plodkinson's knees are knackered. He wasn't exactly lightning before now either. Steer clear.

Well I'll go further...if you can't score by the fifth tackle, you complete and force a drop out...and attack again and again.

An aggressive defence can be very handy if your team has the firepower to get the ball, providing they can do something with the ball when they get it back.

The more control you have of the ball, the more energy reserve for greater aggressive defence like you pointed out.

yeah because other teams do not defend and Ley us run through their line and theres no point in scoring 5 try if we let 7 in

Defence does win games anyone who thinks it doesn't is crazy if you defend better than the opposition then you have given yourself a platform to win the game on

the fact our attack has been poor this year has not helped but n all fairness our defence has been just as poop

Over-rated tactic that. We never use it at Leigh, and tend to drop the ball early in the tackle count, to avoid the embarrassment of having to kick on the sixth! icon_wink.gif
