Going off his head cam there was no way on earth that he could see the ball touch the line whilst the tackle was taking place. If he did then why not back his own judgement and give the try there and then instead of copping out and handing it over to the inept Bentham. He had doubts whether the ball had touched the line whilst the tackle was taking place and those doubts were proved right from all the sky angles the video ref used. Just sums up the poor standard of ref and video ref we've come accustomed to.

The headcam doesn't necessarily depict what the ref is looking at. Take a picture outside your window now, is the picture focused on a bin down the street, reading the number written on it?

Yes, but the ref said he'd seen the ball hit the line and he wanted to know how it got there. anyway, the try was given and it's all over now, so there's nothing any of us can do about.

| Anyway, back to all things SL, Saints 2, Leeds 2. Widnes 14, Wigan 0. 'Shaun Wane will be furious.'

| Saints penalised for offside and Leeds fans cheer ironically.
Surrealism at it's pythonesque best.

I'll agree with you on this, Teesside.
This particular incident was equivalent to a swinging arm (in my book)
I just detest this shoulder charge rule.
Used properly, the shoulder (with the momentum of the body) going into the body (not the head) of the opposition player, is a thing of RL beauty.
To ban the shoulder charge as a whole, is plain wrong (again, in my book)

Also Russell was clobbered round the head by Robbie Savage, while he was prone, not moving and it came from behind and as a flop. Result = ignored by the ref.
Plus Lunt's late high swinging arm that didn't miss O'B. Result = ignored by the ref.

Let's face it, most things were ignored by the ref. Very poor from him last night.

I agree, but that was purely and simply an attack to the head. ironic that the person doing the textbook tackle at the same time was Ryan Bailey.

Yes nearly 14 years, every age group at least once and open age. And more importantly so is Tony Smith and he didn't signal for two.
Against the opinion of someone who is perpetually wrong.
