Not just limited to the forum. Plenty of boos at the Wigan game. Especially when Bevan French evaded 5 tackles from behind their try line.

That was very noticeable watching the SKY coverage.

If you have ever been side-stepped and left grasping air you wouldn't think booing is even a little bit useful. It says a lot about those who boo though.

I didn't attend the game. For me I think the boos were a simple expression of "this isn't good enough" which those paying spectators have the right to do but you think it means more - so what does it say about those who boo?

The chase was pretty poor to be fair (save for Cooper who got back) https://www.facebook.com/rlsuperleague/ ... 118086357/

Only saw this incident live, and hadn`t realised until I watched your video, how far Cooper had run to chase down French.

His effort to prevent the try, puts his team mates` to shame.

It tells me they are frustrated and that they've probably never tried to make a tackle before. But if they think that booing ... Charnley, Holmes, Magoulias, Thewlis & Dean (as far as I can make out) will help those players, they are wrong. I repeat, to shout "Smiffy you are crap" will not improve Smiffy.

They may not have done, but that is not a prerequisite for passing judgement - the old saying "you don't need a weatherman to know which way the wind blows" can apply.

I don't think booing helps individual players either, but it does convey "this aint good enough" to the powers that be if that was ever in question. It's also comes from a place of passion so I can understand it.

I understand but ... I know absolutely nothing about opera. If I was to attend an opera (not going to happen) I would not start shouting "yer crap" at the start of the second half.
I am being flippant cos I know lots of good blokes who have never played but they understand the game & know how to behave whilst watching rugby. Imagine turning up to watch Wire at the moment, as a newcomer and watching speccies booing their own players and throwing out insults you'd wonder what the hell is going on. I even saw a speccy leave his seat (a few games back) and throw abuse at the opposition kicker. We are used to it ... but honestly it is not good for Rugby League.

So,
Positive crowd noises - allowed
No crowd noises - allowed but not preferable
Negative crowd noises - absolutely not.

Extensions sounds worrying, 3 at most I would be thinking out of that list.

Dean and Gannon are junior players out of contract and personally I would be offering both of those guys a new contract.

If you are already including them in your retention thoughts, then there is only room for Cooper too?

Ratchford because he is so versatile could be offered a role and to help ease Dean into being 1st team halfback, but he may get a better deal elsewhere, like Hill did.

Well my thoughts were Dean, Cooper and Mulhern know nothing of Gannon tbh but if people think yes and ofc from the academy then yes

You can't lose that many players in one hit, you probably wont recruit that many in an off season. The transition for Powell has to be years in the making unfortunately.

I'll take a punt at the following extension (assuming they want to stay)

Ratch
Billy M
Mulhean
Dean
Gannon
Charnley (50/50 here)
Cooper
Davis

Out are

Hughes
Doro
Robson (i like but he probably needs to leave if he wants a RL career)
Butler
Widdop
