Rich coming from the manager of a team who should have had a player binned for a professional foul

Quote: Nothus "I'm surprised there isn't really any mention on here of Myler's try. That was an exceptional piece of skill to dink the ball over Bowen like that, any of the big names from the NRL pull that off and everyone would be waxing lyrical about it.
Perhaps a little fortuitous but it still needed a very delicate touch to execute like that, one of the tries of the season so far imo.

You guys were great to watch last night. Controlled aggression, great ruck speed, some classic hooking play from Dwyer who is looking like a top prospect. I was also amazed at the yards that 19 year old kid Wilde was making. To be winning the collision and making additional yards like that at his age, against one of the top sides in the league, really does bode well for his future in the sport.'"

Nitpicking here a bit but Sam's 18. Thanks for the kind words!

Quote: morleys_deckchair "That intensity will see us end the season well. It was very impressive... Also, how bad were Wigan? absolutely woeful.

Tautai made Asotasi look like Sam Burgess... what an absolute pudding... Those forwards of theirs are shocking.... I was very surprised at how poor they were. The only people that werent surprised are the wigan fans.

Also, i think we have found a side with worse half backs than us.'"

It was the most obvious result of the weekend IMO. Wigan's away record is absolutely horrendous. The only wins they pick up are at places like Wakefield.

Their pack is so powerpuff they offer no opposition to anyone. They don't even stand up to the physical stuff anymore. Westwood and Sims were pumped up last night, expecting a big fight. Lots of chest banging, lots of aggression. Wigan didn't respond at all. If Sims had done what he'd done against any other side in pro RL there would have been a brawl. If Westwood did what he did to Larne Patrick, where he was just randomly bullying a Wigan forward long after the ball had gone, any other side would have been in there. Wigan just had nothing. It makes me wonder if there are real problems at Wigan behind the scenes. There are rumours of 'bad news' coming that the fans won't be happy with at all and the famous Wigan team spirit has just gone. Perhaps it's just the Grand Final fallout still, where Wigan know they can't behave like that anymore and have nothing else to fall back on? That or they are all hacked off with how much Sammy Boy will be earning next season.

Really wouldn't surprise me if the Wigan players are trying to get shut of Wane currently. Nothing there but professional players going through the motions.

Great intensity and commitment, but I would agree about Wigan being awful, they were beyond shocking. It was not just the dropped balls and errors, they were slinging the ball anywhere but to the next player. And they looked as though rigor mortis had set in for most of the first half - they only seemed to perk up in the second when it was too late.

If anyone watched that on TV instead of live btw, you missed a real treat as the South was buzzing. I don't remember having so much fun singing " your poop" at the West for a very long time.

Wigan were awful because of the bite, speed and aggression in our defence. We bullied them out of their shape and gameplan.

Very true. But you'd expect a Wane-Wigan side to react to that and hit back. And if that didn't work to just hit out. They did nothing.

I thought we looked a much more balanced team last night just with Russell at full back & Ratch at centre & it was an excellent team performance & not a bad player in sight.
Still confused with the ref's interpretation of off side at the play the ball though, Wigan got away with murder at times.

The punches on Williams on the floor? Williams took the ball up and was tackled by Sims and someone else. As he went to the floor, Sims can be seen on the replay repeatedly punching his head/face as he's defenseless on the floor.

I think fortunately for Sims the punches were very weak, he was trying to hide them as much as possible so there wasn't much back lift. I wouldn't be surprised to see him called up for a chat though.

I wouldn't have called them punches, he was definitely roughing him up with a bit of treatment on the floor and deserved a penalty but a ban?

Haven't watched the game back, did Wigan even react to that? If a Wiganer had done that to Myler, Sims and Westwood would have been right in there. Wigan just looked scared to death for most of the night.

something in the can't be d. from the second or third set you had, your forwards were taking ages to get back, on one lot you were 4 tackles in before mcilorum got back on side. Gelling was blowing out of his from very very early on as well, he shouldn't have been picked.

It was Sims and Clarke in the tackle. You can see him throw two punches at the guy. Yes they were soft and i don't think he connected. Be interesting to see if anything comes of it but with RFL's disciplinary panel being odd who knows it could either be a ban or not even picked up on. Your right about if it had been one our lads then it would gone off. Wigan tried to get aggressive and we just dealt with it with controlled aggression and proper hits. The hit from Sims on this tackle was incredible.

Ref certainly didnt help his case last night. Very often either the ref or the PTB was on a line and it was clear that the ref had retreated 12 metres. That thing was supposed to have been correct a few season again......10 means 10 ....OR if you are in front of the ref, you are offside, even if he has gone back 15.
