Well the stand out moment of the tests for me was Gleeson's pass out to Ade Gardner at Hull, which is a classic example of his main quality. He didn't make many, if any mistakes, so yes, he did play a very important role in the 3 tests, as did anyone else who played in all 3 games.
Gleeson is probably one of our most consistent players of 2007, so instead of looking to find a bad point, start to realise that a 2 year extension of his contract is nothing but a good thing.

Okay whatever.
I just wonder why the hell then at every mention of the bloke, your like a broken record going on about his under performances. If we listened to you, he's been crap for us for 4 years and poor for GB.

Out of the two centres playing for Gb, senior made a far far bigger contribution in attacks than gleeson did who had a 'steady' 3 games.
As far as his 2 year extension goes, i'm glad we are keeping him, i just hope we are paying a 'reasonable wage'

| I agree with the Wigan fans.
Gleeson is poop and they must be delighted there is no chance he is going there. King is paid half of our total wage bill and is vastly over-rated. Add to that Chris (who?) Hicks who doesn't even make it onto an online poll and the lightweight one season wonder Kev Penny and you can see how poor our backs are going to be next season.
I wish we had Wigan's outside backs instead.

There's always two sides though Judge. Far more ball went left did it not. I thought Gleeson was effective without being brilliant. Defensively he was very good.

95% of the attack went down the GB left side, its the polar opposite of how warrington play, and the only reason people are saying he had a bad game the other day is because of that pass he put down when he was in the gap, however its possibly only the 2nd pass he did get all game so it stands out more, and it was a bad pass.

Top tackler in the backs over the 3 tests I believe
Couldn't have been that bad then

That pass was coming mightily fast aswell, I think most people would have dropped it at that speed

Tbh i think senior is just quicker and stronger than gleeson, he probably did get more better ball than gleeson but he also used his strength to break attempted tackles, it's been awhile since i've seen gleeson use those 'quick feet' . Yes he is good defensivly.

So he was'nt pivotal to the test series win then?

well he used them quick feet more than anyone else in SL this year, top line breaks and try assists.

No all it proves he is happy at Wire, who knows he may have had the option to leave but is happy to stay and why not? I dont blame him he could be part of a special Warrington team in the next few years.

| Quote: john_wilshires_physio "You haven't got the foggiest about Glees, or RL in general given your appearances on here.
Gleeson has done very well for us, his 'supa' Saints form is a myth, his under performing here is a myth (barr a ropey by his own standards 2006).
As i've said, next year, I think he'll be superb.'"
Firstly point out in my recent posts on here where it would indicate i know nothing about rugby league?
His form at Saints was not a myth, on what grounds can you claim this? He was far sharper and in physicaly better condition, his passing game and ability to use his footwork has always been his main assett and is indeed top class and this is what still makes him a great threat.
His pace has dropped significantly in the last few years, as someone who watches rugby league every week regardless of the team, i do not attend Wigan week in week out, i have watched Gleeson fairly regullarly since he Hudds days where he was much sharper than he was at Saints although not as complete a player.
My worry is that year on year his condition seems to have detiriorated, i hope for Englands sake a new condtioner can get him back in shape and then he could be considered world class if he can add that extra yard of pace back to his game.
For what its worth he will never be in the same class as the bloke lining up in the opposite centre spot for Wire next year, he is truely worthy of the world class tag.
