| Quote: Paul2812 "The interview on Boots'n'All with Paul Rowley was interesting to watch. He criticised Tony Smith for the way he'd handled the situation, but said Moran had dealt with it in an adult manner.
He also said there was no wrong doing on his behalf and insinuated that MH had contacted Leigh about transferring, as have other Warrington players.'"
Eddie said that Warrington have paid compensation to London for Dwyer who's now back with a extended contract (missed earlier post), there's no show without punch, Clarkey reckons Wire will win on Friday but with all the turmoil within the wire, who knows.

| I am a little disappointed that he didn't see out his contract with us and how the press report we have handled it. His choice to go and he has to be accountable for that but as a club we seem to be giving a mixed message with Moran apparently handling it well and Smith not. A messy saga but will be yesterday's news tomorrow.

| Quote: lefty goldblatt "The way that I described our Scrum half of 30 years ago, was the nicest thing I could think to call him. Anything else would've broken the swear filter.
Higham signed a contract. He should've kept to that contract. That bond happens in SL, Championship or wherever. That's the "right" of the contract.
I hope you're happy in Ley, and not Leigh
Lefty I'm extremely happy in Leigh or Leyth as some owd us call it,I wouldn't live anywhere else , well unless it was Blackpool of course.I feel so sad you have this opinion of the Legendary man who played at 7 ,I know him very well and he's a true Gentleman, who is always ready to do anything he can for anybody,he has been to watch Leigh around 8 times this season ,BOTH home and away and calls himself an adopted Leyther Yes he likes a pint ,but nowt like you describe.Im sure you must have had a bitter experience with him to be so negative towards him,I attended a game this season with him ,and we went in the Lord Rodney before the game ,he posed for many pics , chatted and signed autographs never refusing anybody.
One last question.?Would you have the same opinion of Gazza or George Best?

| Quote: Fantastic Mr Catpiss "What was said initially was that mickey, his agent and leigh all cooked up the contract offer, then mickey and agent went to Moran to ask for his release withouth bothering to tell the head of coaching and performance or whatever title Smith has. Lack of courtesy on mickey's behalf.
The cloud aspect as mentioned? Well, Bert apparently saw his booty as he was left out of the grand final team, however ratch was impeccable in the lead up to that after bert got rattled by widnes.
Carvell? difference in opinion over contract lengths? you'd have to say it was the right call based on his lack of form and moving around last year and injuries, sometimes the call is to let them go 12 month early rather than 12 month too long, we've had that with other players.
Kohe-love? found out on teletext. Can't argue with that one.'"
Hodgson wasn't fit for the Grand Final, he hadn't trained for weeks. The week before the GF O'Brien had been training at full-back until Ratchford passed a late fitness test.

| Dear oh dear, what a mess.
First off, I hope young Dwyer seizes this opportunity and lives up to his undoubted potential, starting this week and culminating in a MoM QF winning performance against Leigh/Ley/Whatever. No hard feelings eh chaps, all's fair in love and war including breaking contracts.
Secondly, I fail to see how any blame can be attributed to Warrington or TS in particular. TS was clearly upset by the way Leigh & HIgham and his agent have engineered the situation and justifiably so. Some of us in the game still enjoy the kind of gentlemanly conduct that seperates us from certain other professional sports, but clearly such morality is on the wane or totally non-existent in certain areas.
Finally, I hope everyone down Hilton Village or whatever you call it these days, will be equally understanding when you fail to gain a place in SL and Ryan Brierley's agent has a chat in his ear when bigger clubs come-a-knocking. Whatever contract has his signature on is as irrelavent as the one Higham has been encouraged to break.

| So the chain of events go,
Warrington reduce Mickey's contract offer 50% for 2016/1 year deal.
Mickey declines.
Smith takes it personally.
Leigh sign Mickey for 2016/17.
Penky gets injured and is out for the season.
Leigh owner approaches Warrington owner about a possible early release so Warrington can chase other player & Leigh get cover.
Warrington owner agrees.
Smith finds out during training session last week, loses the plot and sends Mickey home infront of all the players.
Mickey asks for meeting with Smith & is made to wait without training until this week. (hence being pulled from CC game)
Appointment made with Smith & Moran Monday
Mickey is a leyther.

Yes, I have had a bitter experience with him.
He poohed on my club from a great height, whilst we were destroying anyone that came in our path, playingwise.
Gazza's, Best's or poohhouse's alcoholism is of little concern to me.
The "legendary man"? He's obviously not poohed on Ley, then.

| Just a thought, but does almost 350 posts about the departure of a 34 year old Mickey Higham, actually highlight how far we have slipped over the last couple of years?
He's been a good servant, but if he is the be all and end all to whether Wire put up a decent showing this season, then things have reached a nadir, which we desperately need to arrest.

| I'm grateful for all that Mickey has done for us but getting £50,000 for a player who wanted to leave, and will be 35 in September is a great deal.
Higham was sold for £70,000 10 years ago in that Saints -> Bradford -> Wigan deal. And we bought him on a free.
Just think we bought Westwood for £60,000, Briers for £65,000, Nathan Wood £30,000

this whole debacle is no slur on wire. I imagine being a leigh lad, he wanted to finish his career at the club. WHY it had to be now (from our point of view), was probably down to sean penkywicz being out injured for 2/3 months.
only micky knows what made his mind up to leave right now - he could have said 'no' or maybe/yes to the 2016 season.

To say you hope leigh won't gain a place in super league is the worst thing I've heard on this board. It would be beneficial to the sport if we did surely??. Any fan worth his or her salt knows that leigh have a good following, which can only be good to create money within the game. Just because higham has chose to sign for leigh does not justify a pathetic comment like yours. I respect warrington and it's fan base so the way the above post reads is that you have thrown all ya toys out ya pram you pathetic human being. If leigh don't succeed then we will regroup and give it another shot the season after. Even when referring to leigh you mock us in your post, you need to get a grip.

Goodness me, loosen your belt a notch, the blood flow to your brain is getting constricted. I don't believe I said I [ihope[/i Leigh don't get a place in SL just that I [ithought[/i they wouldn't. If I wanted to mock Leigh I'd point out that Mickey will soon be packing down with someone for whom evolution is a rumour, and who can't even assault referees on the field of play without getting injured these days.
