| Not a chance Powell gets sacked before we're 6 games into next season at least.

If we don`t beat Toulouse, he will have to go.
The Board will have to react to our situation.
If we beat Toulouse, then I agree, give him a chance for 6 games or so next season.

The board haven't been known to react for 10+ years they won't change now in my opinion.

| If we do get beat by Toulouse then isn't it really too late to sack him anyway? The damage will have already been done....

20 years almost to the day. (12th August 2002)
With six games remaining of the 2002 season, Paul Cullen was hired with Warrington in 10th place. We dipped to 11th place but 2 wins ensured we avoided relegation and remained in 10th place.
Interestingly in 2009 (Tony Smiths first season) we finished the season in 10th place too...

True about 2009. However Super League was a 14 team league in what if memory serves me right, was the first year of licensing. We were never in danger of being relegated, and were never in real danger of finishing 14th thanks to Celtic’s dismal season who were whipping boys all year.
Don’t twist stats to justify your support of Powell.

In some ways, our current predicament worries me more, it certainly angers.me more. Back in 2002, we had a squad that you only had to look at and you knew would struggle - they had no class, pedigree, guile or nous. They tried, they laboured but they were jouneymen competing against far better opposition.
Now? We are in a decline which defies logic, and seems almost wilfully masochistic based on the playing roster.

I didn't even mention Powell? Just posted a fact about the similarities to now.
Oh and don't tell me what to do.

Oh and don't tell me what to do.
You’re comparing 2002 to 2009, while we may have finished 10th in both seasons, the variables and circumstances were very different.
In 2002 and 2022 we were/are in a relegation fight in a twelve team league. In 2009 we were not in a fourteen team league. In 2002 and 2022, three teams were/are in the frame to be relegated. In 2009, Celtic were below par in every single way, and there was no relegation.
So I’ll say it again, stop twisting facts to justify your support of the current coaching set up. It’s becoming quite pathetic and sad you cannot see change is needed today to survive relegation remain in the top flight.

100%. 2002 was a rag tag squad of “nearly men” that Cullen somehow galvanised to keep us up. 2022? For me it’s a culmination of pathetic recruitment and retention over 5 years that I won’t expand on for fear of more Piers Morgan comparisons. Lol.

I did not such thing. I said we finished 10th in 2009 which we did. There was no comparison made although you have drawn one.
Anyway, a mark of civilised debate is being able to tolerate alternative opinions to your own without resorting to calling people or views "sad or pathetic". Disagree - fine. Personally I am on the fence with Powell now. But our opinions, even alternate, won't change anything.
