The ball is in RL fans court.'"
Difficult one this, clubs need fans in the stadium but the TV need viewers sat at home, my suggestion is go to the game and leave the TV on for the game, double bubble.

Alternatively, take your telly and a very very long extension cable to the game.

Good stuff.
I would say that the ball is in the RFL / Super League's court to deliver entertainment and sporting contest that drives attendance and viewing figures for C4.

| Hopefully. Channel 4 has the numbers to increase there coverage going forward.
Even if you split the coverage with sky.
Sky take a Thursday and Friday night game. Channel 4 takes a Saturday tea time and Sunday tea time game.
Just a shame that football will take so much more priority than the great game we have. Where we could have a Saturday dinner time and Sunday dinner time game to have every game broadcast over the weekend.
We only need 6 slots a week. It would be absolutely fantastic to have all superleague games shown live.
Alternatively. Even if Channel 4 take 25% of the coverage. Make a deal for the 2nd tier to have some coverage.
Although my ideal scenario would be a 3/4 tier league system and coverage shown throughout the 3 leagues to evenly distribute the money across the board to bring some more money and health into the whole game.

| Does anyone know yet the value of this contract?
It would be interesting to see now much they are paying, compared with Sky, pro rata per game.

That’s it then, it’s dammed in to failure. They’ll be only about 12 tv viewers!

| We're on TV 7 times out of the first 11 rounds this season, 5 on Sky and 2 on Channel 4. I'm buzzing with that, hopefully i can get to some of the games not on TV aswell. I'm so excited for this year

That should look good with us filling the get pist wet through end.

With me ditching Sly (sic) Sports 6 years ago, and me getting my fix of live sports through other (ahem) sources, I'm less exposed to Sly's advertising/treatment of our game. Whenever I have their channels on, we almost seem like an inconvenience /channel filler to them. Almost like asking a stroppy teenager to tidy their room.
Hopefully, C4's emergence will give them a munch needed kick up the proverbial..... and get rid of all their match day team.

As long as you remember to top your elecy meter up it shuld be fine, you pay to get into the game so the club gets income, you leave the TV on C4 and it counts as a viewing figure, happy days all around

I've said it before on other threads and hopefully I don't sound like a broken record, or that poor bloke Mike O'Farrell from Middlesex CC (who's being hounded unnecessarily IMO) but why would Sky Sports actively promote our sport? We are not PL Football, or a sport with a premium audience like Golf, I agree with you that we are a stocking filler and it's in their interests to pay as little as possible for our 'product'.
There's plenty of competition on the stocking filler stakes most noticeably Women's Soccer, Women's Netball, Women's Cricket, which is fair enough to an 'enlightened' bloke like me at least it's played in the UK. BUT Women's Basketball from the USA, really?

Well, they have given our sport MILLIONS of pounds since 1989 (admittedly nowhere near the levels of PL, Cricket, Golf, F1 etc), and them "saving the sport" in 95, with the launch of SL a year later, so I'd expect them to plug RL in their "what's coming up this month" ad, but we rarely feature. If we do do, it's for a second, if we're lucky. We're bombarded with US sports (admittedly the time delay facilitates this) and women's sports, where one girl and her dog are the attendances (when you take away the free tickets....it DOES happen).
I know Salford, Wakey etc have poor attendances, but there's teams with 5 figure crowds, week in week out, so the general public ARE interested.
It just annoys me why RL is treated as the "ginger stepchild" of their sports portfolio.

On the 2022 trailer for Sky Sports we got 3 clips of about 0.73 seconds each. Women's cricket got well above that. Tells you everything
