| Best time to release the autobiography is while he's still playing. Imagine if Sean Long's book was just coming out now, everybody would be "who was he?".

"Best time" commercially then probably yes, but, does that make it right?
I've only read the extract, so perhaps I'm getting the wrong end of the stick, but, all this tittle tattle with and about people still involved in the game it's not right is it? Also, what if we have our greatest year next year (it's always our year after all) and he is a big part of it will there be another book/final chapter?
He is a top man and made a vast difference to our team and set up of that there is no doubt i just don't think he would have sold less copy next Christmas

I couldn't care less where a fella from a Man United supporting family in Salford serialises his book. I only care what people who have (or claim to have) an affiliation to Liverpool do.

It's not a case of selling your club and the game down the river though, is it? The names Long, Senior and Alker spring to mind.
He is also at the end of his career. There are several people in other sports and other areas of life who publish their -'life story' whilst still in their early twenties.

I don't know what is in the book so can't say one way, or the other, about "selling the game down the river", it might not be that contraversial?
BTW I think he is a top bloke has got a story to tell and desrves some cash for telling it. I look forward to reading it and that might sound a bit two faced, but, I really think as Club Captain, a current international I would have preferred to read it next year.

I'm a Liverpool fan and I clicked the link. Anyone want to buy my season ticket off me?

Yes, I think he has made a big mistake as he has now missed the Wire 2013 CC and GF wins.
My English teacher Miss Pringle always said "take your time, make sure you get everything in, and never finish early".

The book actually sold out half way through his first official signing session on Monday which was a bit of a bummer to find out after queing up for 20 mins and getting a load of (mainly friendly) stick from the wire fans.
I was advised to go to Waterstones and come back but they couldn't g'tee he would still be there - fortunately he was and I was the last to get it signed.
He was of course the true gent I expected him to be, even though he had clearly had enough of signing for the day. (can't believe Hetherington at Leeds thought he was finished when he came back from Oz).
Turns out the wolfware shop only had 200 which I though was a bit pessimistic seeing it was advertised. The shop lady said they would ask him to come back to do another session but Adrain didn't know anything about it.
Next local signing is Waterstones on24th at 2pm. They only had 7 books left so hope they stock up properly.
As a side note I also managed to get Paul Sculthorpes Man of Steel autobiography brand new hardback delivered for £2.81 - how the mighty have fallen!

Uncle Rico, I think that either you've mis-read my post, or maybe I haven't mad my point well enough. I'm not saying that Moz has sold the game down the river, he certainly hasn't, and I don't believe he ever would, but I think that Senior and Alker did and Long wasn't far off. The three of them tried to sell with sensationalism, and the first two didn't appear to care whether they damaged the game or not.

Dear Teesside (double S noted from a previous telling off) I hadn't misread your post, or indeed thought that you hadn't made it well enough, it was as a point eloquently made, I got it.
Without wishing to sound defensive, perhaps you misread mine? Ha ha. For what it's worth Chaz Winslade has hit the proverbial 'nail' I was rather clumsily trying to make 'right on the head' about it being a better read next year.
