| Quote: Lord Tony Smith "Why isn’t KF responsible? He employed the coach who has produced the same bottle job shambolic performance in the play offs for the 3rd year running. He even gave the same coach a contract extension. Price is doing his best he’s just a crap coach. The whole of Super League know that apart from KF it seems.'"
Even Brian Carney waded in after Price's sign off interview. Gist of it was "thank god we won't ever have to interview that dull b*****ard again"

Mata’utia is a decent centre, but he has some shocking games. He offers very little in attack - not much pace, can’t feed the winger and usually cuts inside even when there is space out wide.
Holmes is different - when he”s on the field he’s a very good player - hits hard in defence and runs good lines with good footwork in attack. If (and it’s a big IF) he stays fit, he’d get in any team in SL.'"
Christ, wait until you see one-trick Jake and his turnstile defence....

Probably. I'd imagine it's advised by its CEO, who has gone through the CV's and done the interviewing, though?

| No, I imagine that at least one or two of the Directors would sit on the appointment panel.

| Quote: Lord Tony Smith "I got slaughtered on here a year ago for saying that Karl doesn’t care and he’s only interested in the commercial/business side and not what happens on the pitch. A ruthless and strong CEO would have fired Price after we whimpered out of the play offs in 2019 having lost 7/9 games I think in the league. You only have to spend 5 minutes in the blokes company to recognise that. He was carrying water for us 5 years ago. Crowds poor, results abysmal, wasting money on crap players. How is this fraud still in our CEO?[/
Over the last three years one of them most honest and true statements of how the wire is run on this forum !!!

Karl went to Aus and interviewed Price then advised to the owners that he be appointed and was the best man for the job.

Wasn’t he the 3rd best man as the other 2 he went to talk with rejected us?

It is a fair point. The CEO is on the Board but there has to be some collective responsibility about major decisions so when me and others on here are moaning about KF really he's just a proxy for the Board.
KF has made himself a lightning rod because he's the one who talks publicly and some of his statements have backfired. When every year, your line is "last year was not acceptable for a club of our ambition and we must do better", there comes a point when people ask who is responsible for us doing better and why are we in the same position year after year.
In fairness, as Cat often notes, the embarrassing attempts to wind up rival clubs were a thing of the past, KF hasn't been doing that for a year or so now.
I don't have a personal vendetta against KF I just don't think this job is the right one for him. When he's been on the radio talking about the state of the game and where the game should go in future, I think he speaks very well. Much better than some of the unimaginative suits we've had at the RFL over the years. He has passion for the game and ideas to make the product better, if they said KF was leaving Wire to take up a significant position in the RFL I'd welcome it and think he would be good.

Are you donning your P&B and going out on one of a Thursday/Friday/Sunday, each week, until were well into December?

Wait until the fella who nips around his, while he's at the match, tells her that Wire haven't been playing... There will be absolute hell to pay

| Surely the CEO has to have some credit for pulling off the Inglis and Williams signings, signing up Ashton, King, Clark and Currie to new contracts etc
Okay, things haven't worked out how we'd like (again) but there's plenty of groundwork done.

Inglis signing, why? It was an awful signing.

Only in hindsight, could have been fantastic.
Like bringing & retaining Widdop - sure it's not quite all worked out, but you've got to give the CEO & board credit for some of the quality signings we've enjoyed (at times).

| Also Tyrone Roberts in that case then, it didn't work out but gotta give the board credit because it could have been great if he'd won MoS.
