| A person that chooses RL as their vocation (has my full respect) will accept and expect that during their time will have some injuries and as fans we should accept and expect this too.
Players like Grix, both Evans' have suffered injuries on a regular basis, I am sure that there are others that you guys can name. Our club chose to bring in one of the most injury prone players of the current era, questions should be asked at the highest level as to why.
There is only so much we can do for a injured player and I think we do a good job in the main, but if injuries keep arising do we look at the players or the conditioning, sometimes its pretty clear to see one or the other is at fault. Bad luck plays its part as well.
Players who can't be ar$$ed are a different issue. In the 30+ years I have watched this club there have been far too many. I did think with TS we had driven that out of the club, sadly I was mistaken. We have a lazy lump at 15 and a centre that is only bothered when he can score a try.
We then have to look at the standard of player we have, we brought in back up props (England and Riley) that are clearly miles off the standards we have set recently. Since Briers retired we have as we all know suffered immensely. Myler has never taken the mantle, GOB is clearly not good enough.
We do have some great/good players though, Westwood, Hill, Sims, Clarke, Ratchford, Sandow, Currie and Russell
We have a fast player, Penny
We have some sloooow players, Monaghan, Ormsby
We have some talent too, Wilde, Philbin, T King, G King, Patton has shown great promise so far and has a chance to learn off a modern NRL star.
I know that you guys can name more players than I have, but its early.
When will this club realise that sentimentality with the players and coaches gets us no where. That said I don't advocate knee jerk reactions but considered approach with all issues.

| thing is, pretty sure we had a good few years out of grixy where he was 'majorly' injury free.

We did and he was a fine player at that time, he may prove to be that again, but age and aftermath of injuries are not on his side.

| i think what's forgotten in this situation is that as well as the broken leg, he needed a shoulder operation as well, which was delayed due to the leg not healing as well or as quickly as they'd expected.
This season is pretty much almost a write off for him, which is a shame in a short career.

| These guys put themselves through incredible pain on occasions and they certainly have my respect, but when it all boils down I want my club to be moving forward every season and not holding on to past glories, under achieving and crocked players.

| Your argument may have had even a minuscule point before this season, but we've already got Sandow, Lineham and Gidley for next year with more to come. We signed up the current man of steel, and Sims who has the passion in the right place and is a big influence on giving us a kick up the butt half the time, which he actually shouldn't even have to do. So, no, it's not like we're scrimping, Wheeler is literally the only guy we've shipped in who was bottom of the barrel and we probably got paid to take the sod. Asotasi came over with a lot of promise but hasn't delivered, it wasn't a punt on him however, he's just turned out to be cack for us.

| We need a captain and a leader .we haven't replaced Morley & maybe shouldn't have let him go ,if Asotasi was signed to replace him ,he's fallen so far of the mark it's embarrassing,,, will Gidley do the job ? Or are we looking for a really big name ??

He must have been 'mentally prepared' during those two years, and presumably couldn't be d during the rest of the time.

It's a shame that Simms didn't follow up his actions whilst wearing the BBC microphone. I didn't see him rallying the troops on Saturday like he did against Leigh.

Moving aside from your vendetta against Tony Smith, when Simms was ON the pitch he wasn't as vocal as in the game against Leigh.

| Is the loss of micky Higham starting to show , Dwyer has done great ,until Saturday, but, he's never going to do what an experienced campaigner like Micky could do in terms of leadership ,losing him was something which TS couldn't have planned for

as mark has said previously, dwyer doesn't have much of an engine on him yet. He did more minutes than usual and more tackling than usual with the loss of harrison and ormsby, although some very uncharacteristic handling errors from him as well.

| Quote: mark_m "But you don't play a professional contact sport.
No player is more likely to be injured more than any other. It comes down to physical preparation and just plain luck.
And quite frankly the way some of the people on this forum talk about players when this is their livelihood is quite simply astonishing.'" Rubbish. Most of the said players have heard worse on the pitch + they get paid quite handsomely compared to most of us so if they can't take criticism it's time to pack in.If you don't perform well at work i'd guess you'd get a good rollicking so why not under performing players?Called free speech.

| It's all very well demanding we get rid of players who are on contract, no doubt these are not the same people who deride Harris, Sculthorpe and their ilk for a lack of loyalty
