Ganson & Bentham were p$ss poor tonight, but nothing should detract from an awesome Wire performance.

We shook hands with several Wire supporters at the KC last week, you have been the best team in the comp this season (stating the obvious by the league table) and it will be good to see new winners of the GF (please don't slip up and let Wigan or Leeds win!!)

Might review my thoughts if we get an unlikely win on Sunday icon_wink.gif

Quote: oli30045 "Eddie: It's going to take a top quality team to beat the Warrington Wolves...
Phil Clarke: What you're forgetting is that Wigan came here in the Challenge Cup and embarrassed Warrington by 20 points

Another:
Eddie (after the Atkins try): I don't think Atkins was selected for the dream team was he?
Phil Clarke (immediately): No Eddie, George Carmont was picked ahead of him...

Bitter, bitter man...
Phil Clarke (about 20 minutes in): "I doubt that Warrington will have that much possession or be able to play at this pace and intensity for the rest of the game"

Have you watched us at all this season Phil? Or is that desperate hope I can hear in your voice? icon_lol.gif

Even taking into account the officials tonight and how bad they were Hudds could of played till midnight and still not scored your def was just to much for them to cope with.My real annoyance with the officials came when J.Monahan looked like he had squeezed in at the corner and on replay his foot was on the line, yet the linesman who was stood at most 2 feet away with the best view of it from anyone didnt put his flag up,its a real pet peeve of mine that they never actually do anything now.

Congratulations on the silverware,i will certainly be shouting you on towards the grand final ( unless your playing Saints that is )

shocking tonight i thought he seemed to make sure the game was over after 20 minutes, not that you needed much help.
but we were shocking too and even if he had have been a bit more neutral it wouldnt have changed much anyway.

I thought that Ganson was forced into constantly blowing up. Huddersfield lie on in the tackle. They have done for years and they tried it again last night in order to slow Warrington down. Ganson wouldn't allow that to happen. End of.

It was obviously not a try - the officials were simply reviewing how the game should be restarted. If you recall, it was restarted with a scrum to Wire becasue of the Hudds knock on. The TJ did see it because he stood where the 'in touch' occured and not in the in goal position.

Ganson did not affect the outcome last night

Spot on!
I don't remember Ganson 'lying on', once
come to think of it, I can't remember him having ' a second attempt in the tackle'
and now were on the subject, I don't remember the podgy St Helens chap 'ripping the ball out in a two man tackle'

Hudds were masters of their own downfall.

Out of interest, what were Brown's opinions on the 'red button' after the match, re the refereeing

he said something along the lines of it's hard to beat warrington as it is,on the back of a massive penalty count it's asking for trouble, although he didn't exactly blame ganson, said "if he told steve how to ref he might tell me how to coach" icon_lol.gif
ganson didnt affect the outcome of the game no, but he helped put us on the back foot from the off and we never recovered and were simply blown away after that.

This is something that irritates me every week and I end up shouting at the telly when watching the friday/saturday games on Sky. Fans from all teams have complained about the quality of refereeing this season, the lack of consistency, the forward passes etc etc. There's been discussion about adapting the NRL-style of 2 referees in a game, the question was even put to Stuart Cummings on last weeks' Super League Super Men.

For me, what need of 2 referees when we have two perfectly good touch judges who can see everything the ref can't and are perfectly capable of assisting him in decision-making? We all criticise refs but it's a simple matter of physics, he can't see everything happening on the field all at once. The ball steal from Briers towards the start of last night's game is a perfect example. The way the Hudds player was lying on the floor his body was covering the ref's view, yet the TJ must have been able to see it clearly. Yet it was given as a knock on. How many times has their been a blatent forward pass that the TJ is perfectly in line with, but nothing's been done?

I do think something needs to be done as there's been too many games this season where fans from all clubs have come away talking about the referee rather than the rugby and it shouldn't be like that. But whether 2 referees are the answer I don't know. I fail to see why the TJ's can't step up and play a more active role in the controlling of a game.

mismatch? as in we outplayed the team that finished fourth in the league?sounds like sour grapes to me! icon_biggrin.gifANCE:
