I was at the 80-0 (and stayed to the finish). Felt a bit like your favourite pet dying in front of you. Gave the flogging the following week a miss. As a Wire since '67 that's about as bad as its got for me.

I was 10 when i went and watched that 80-0er. I dont remember much details of the match, just the score board,*i think* the pouring rain and my grandad calling some bloke a w*nker, which shocked me a bit as id never heard him swear before that lol.

Memories eh!

I was there for both, the definative lowe point in the 21 years of watching warrington.

I remember me and my dad sat in the car after full time and he didn't even turn the car on for what felt like an age...we just sat in stunned silence.

How can a father console his son after that ha-ha

Despite living in London at the time I was there for the 80-0. Took the day off work (pulled a sicky) and had to drive back to London, on my own, straight after the match and my car stereo wasn't working.

At least I didn't have to try too hard to look like I had been ill the day before!

I'm still at a loss to explain this game.

We weren't in bad form
We had a decent enough side

Was there mutinity in the camp (had the players had enough of Johnno, who had been here for over 7 years, unheard of, now)

Or was it JUST down to the fact that we went 18-0 down without 10 minutes being played, and the problems just snowballed, and the game went out of control.
From memory, it wasn't like we were starved of the ball that night. It just seemed like every time Bobbie Goulding had the ball in his hands, Stains scored.

I have been told on numerous occasions that something had gone on in the changing rooms directly before the match. Not sure exactly what though.
