| Fantastic occasion and 99.9% (there's always a couple of idiots) of the fans are an absolute credit to the Greatest Game.
Never saw any bother, just good natured banter. Everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves and in all fairness for most the result came second to enjoying the occasion.
The Huddersfield fans that I met both around the ground and on the train to and from the capital were great.
All in all Rugby League can be proud of itself - a brilliant advert for the sport.
My voice is still hammered!!!

| i was sat in the hudds end and it was very quiet but all the fans we spoke to before and after the game were top fans and i think this final was great for Rugby League as 2 of the lesser teams have shown themselves up very well.
Hudds problem is they only have 1 song "Fart Town Fart Town". You need some Lennon & McCartney to write you some more.

| One Giants fan was stood on the bridge just before the tube station and she was applauding all the Wire fans as they went under the bridge to get the tube. That for me summed up the day and the game of RL. Good on yer Huddersfield fan.

| Quote: just_browny "The posts from Giants fans on this thread are a credit to their club and to our game. What a magnificent occasion it was, and God knows how many RL fans across London I annoyed with my drunken greetings and best wishes.
All of the Huddersfield fans I spoke to took the defeat in great spirit and I hope that most Warrington fans would have been the same had the result been reversed. What I do know is that this weekend really was a superb one for the game and a memory I'll keep forever.'"
I'm with you 100%, there's some folk on here who I'll never meet, but I hold in some esteem now, great sports.
I guess it's all about winning & losing with dignity. The numbers who stayed from their end to see the cup lifted etc, great stuff.

| Congratulations folks not had a chance to post on here since Saturday, thought you were the better team on the day and deserved your victory, so again congrats.
Despite the result I had a great time down there and it was great o be able to enjoy the weekend with fellow RL supporters from all clubs, thought the Wire fans were terrific before, during and after the game.

| Have to echo all that has been said to be honest, it was a great day, yes the result was blinding, but where else can you go and mix with opposition fans, have some banter and no probs.
It is a day I will remember when I draw my last breath, as even if we do get to other finals - Saturday was very, very special.
Rugby League is a great game, with great supporters, and Saturday just emphasized how good it is.
Good mate of mine is a Hudds fan, felt sorry for him, but along with a lot of his fellow fans, was gracious and congratulatory towards us.
The more I mix with other fans - Wembley/Cardiff (please go back to Cardiff, RFL), the more respect I have for other fans.

| Thanks to all the Hudds fans who have taken the time to give credit to us...
Makes a mockery of Odemwingie Mother Feka and the like's claims that "all Wire fans are scum"....
At least you guys can take defeat graciously and i wish Hudds loads of luck in the playoffs...

Mate, the poem in your signature is awesome - I just read it and it made the hair stand up on the back of my neck, I just re-lived the entire 80 minutes!

| The comments from everyone in this thread do bring a big smile to my face.
Went to the 2005 GF with people from where I worked at the time and one of them is a footy fan, I can still remember his shock at seeing Bradford/Leeds fans mingling, talking and laughing with each other prior to kick off ....
The reaction on this thread just reminds me of that. What an absolutely brilliant community of people we have that are all in love with the same sport.
