| Surely Hull K.R. can't stand by this animal...
That is as bad as its gets and they're damn lucky they didn't kill the bloke...
Absouletly sickening to watch i hope he gets dogs abuse next time he's on a rugby field..
But he should be doing 10 years for attempted murder, once you kick a downed person several times to the head you run the risk of killing him...

I found that shocking, any normal working person would've been given one.

According to the trial, the bloke who Cockayne was kicking had just knocked one of Cockayne's mates unconscious with a punch to the head, so it wasn't an unprovoked attack. Cockayne's mate was apparently brandishing his fists at this guy, so obviously there was something going on here, but it wasn't an unprovoked attack.

44393.gif "They'd butt each other like a pair of billy goats and would both look like a mess at the end of the game. I'd often see Billy an hour later sharing a beer with his rival, with both blokes sporting half a dozen stitches in their scones. They were a breed apart, fornt-rowers - blokes like Bluey were proof of that." Johnny Raper on Billy Wilson and other front rowers of the time:44393.gif |

I thought that cockaynes friend hit the victim and he was out straight away which would of meant it was unprovoked and cowardly!
If Hull kr let him stay i hope everybody gives him abuse

| Read the reports on the trial, the reason Cockayne went psycho was because that bloke knocked his mate out.
Cockaynes spent some time inside as part of this anyway, and he's had the public humiliation of having his crime posted all over the internet so everyone can pass judgement on him. He's copped it rough and has had time to reflect on his mistakes....there's nothing to be gained by treating him like a leper now.

I have no problem with a fist fight ......unlucky if a bloke got sparked out ...
but for two blokes to kick another bloke in the head when he's curled up trying to protect himself thats as low as it gets i'm afraid....
I can only assume by offering some support to the kicking scumbag ...ive been done by another of your sarcastic posts...?

| If Ben Cockayne had no value as a player, he would have already been sacked. Similarly, if Reardon and Pryce were stiffs in their respective reserve teams, they too may have already had their contract terminated. An admission of guilt for assault, when you are a professional rugby league player, is more than sufficient to justify dismissal and to terminate a contract.
However the reality is that all 3 players have talent, ability and value to their respective clubs. Accordingly, their clubs wait. I applaud Castleford for having the courage of their convinctions (pardon the pun) but I suspect that had the guilty party been one of their excellent young prospects, the results may well have been different. I'm not criticising them if that's true, just making the point.

Humiliated? I very much doubt he understands the concept.
Are you condoning his actions because somebody whacked his mate?
