| Quote: Smiffy27 "I don't really buy into the "we don't need anyone else" theory. If a quality and better player becomes available and we have surplus salary cap then we'd be daft not to sign 'em up. Injuries occur all the time so you can never have too many quality players.'"
I would partly agree with that, and there is a track record of TS making opportunistic signings such as Hodgson, Solomona, Joel. So if a really good opportunity has presented itself whilst they were out in Oz, who knows ? But he also has a mini bus full of younger players driving around looking for game time, that he is obliged to find an opportunity to play ( Ben Evans, Jordan Burke, Ryan Shaw, Danny Bridge, Gene Ormsby) not to mention the likes of GOB, Brad Dwyer and Laithwaite who are still on the fringe. And meanwhile last years U19's are also coming through (Tom Walker, Joe Philbin). At some point he will need to make a decision on these players - is he going to keep them or release ? And he can only really do that by exposing them to SL at Wire or elsewhere.
In my own mind, I am happy to believe that another signing is possible, but unlikely.

| the suggestion that we've signed a stand off, seems an unusual one, in terms of areas to recruit,i wouldn't have thought that a priority.
Hooker still seems to be the area that needs investing in next.

| Looking at a lot of the pictures from Australia, it looks like Ratchford is playing fullback in the majority of them

Mummy duck is now thoroughly depressed. SHE was the one that was famous for losing five in a row........until the 2011 GF!!!!!: |
|
| Everything is in line with TS's usual comments on signings "I am happy with the set up and we are not looking to recruit any new players....(however should somebody come available who would be a good buy for the club I'd be stupid not to sign them)".
And like everything at the club that nobody outside of the management circle knows, but we all like to speculate on, lets wait and see.

I reckon other teams (& commentators) think we are very well off for hookers. As well as the two old hands O'Dwyer looks useful. His little kicks for tries v. Widnes were classy.

Isn't there also a young hooker called Andy Ackerley at the club who is also highly rated ?

| not this year but 2015 I expect to see a marquee signing in the centre position provided the rfl get real and bring our cap into line with the aus rl.

And how likely is it that the RFL will do that....?

| for selfish reasons I hope they don't sign a hooker as our lad is the Warrington and England U16s hooker and he might be ready to take the step up in the next couple of years!

It has been announced today that Matty Russell injured his ankle at the start of the tour.
This will have been the reason why Ratch was at FB.

I can see it now, 11,000 of us at the start of next season delighted with our new expensive hooker, and one solitary voice shouting, 'What about my lad????'
Seriously Mark, I'm absolutely delighted for all of you and I'd love to see him make his debut in a few years time.

ha if and when he does play I am mentally prepared for him to become a scapegoat as he is from Warrington and does not have an Antipodean accent!

Elocution lessons from one of our Aussies, or if you can stomach it, Shaun Wane, should sort that out.
