| If Tony Smith thinks that these players are worthy of a place in the Warrington squad then that is good enough for me!
He is certainly a better judge of a player than any of us on here!!

| Quote: Ulster Wire "Always thought Atkins would make a better winger. Can't see the Solomona one coming off surely we learnet our lesson with Johnson?
I know Fozzard had a bad shoulder but he was never as bad as Solomona.'"
Is Solomona really injury prone, or has he just had an injury this season?
This is his appearance record in SL:
2004 Wakefield 29
2005 Wakefield 20
2006 Wakefield 27
2007 Bradford 28
2008 Bradford 21
2009 Bradford 4
Now lets check that against the appearance record of Garreth Carvell over the same period...
2004 Hull 14
2005 Hull 21
2006 Hull 28
2007 Hull 19
2008 Hull 9
2009 Warrington 19
Should we have signed Carvell in the light of his injury record....?
Lots of our fans hedged their bets with Carvell when we signed him, like they will with Solomona (including me to an extent). The forum had posts of people saying why did we never learn about signing players with a bad injury record, but he's a good player etc. This way everyone can sing Carvell's praises now and brag to the Hull fans that we made the signing of the season, but then if he did pick up an injury everyone would be straight on the forum saying I told you so, we should never have signed him!
Sometimes you have to take a gamble when you think the rewards outweigh the risks, signing Fozzard and getting Hilton back was a gamble but those two were good for us, signing Carvell was a major gamble and thats paid off. Even Adrian Morley a lot of people had their doubts, they said his body was shot in Aus and he would never last a four year deal, Morley has actually got better season by season and with only one to go I'm hoping somebody offers him an extension!

| I think Atkins is a bit of a rough diamond, tbh. He's big, powerfully built, and has all the natural attributes to make it as a top level centre. He hasn't hit the heights you'd perhaps expect to see for someone who showed such potential early in his career, but he's still young and I'm sure if there is one coach in the competition to get the best out of him, it's Che Smith.
I seem to remember this forum almost imploding under the weight of the criticism the signing of Mathers recieved.

| if the signings of myler, atkins and solomona are true then we will have an extremely strong squad next year.
mathers
hicks
atkins
king
riley
briers
myler
morley
monaghan
carvell
l.anderson
westwood
clarke
higham
v.anderson
solomona
cooper/bridge
i dont know if this means that bridge is going to leave or the rumours about hicks leaving are true but its still a very strong squad. if hicks leave then atkins and bridge can be centres with king and riley on the wings, either way its a good team

I think you may need to find a place for Ben Harrison and also Tyrone McCarthy and Paul Wood!!!

i knew i was forgetting someone, i personally would rather have harrison or/and wood than solomona so hope this aint true but the way cooper has played this season you cant just drop him out of the team, same with the likes of grix, mitchell, mcarthy etc

| Why are we signing Richie 'bloody hell' Mathers from Wigan what is Tony Smith thinking of doesn't he know he's the worst fullback in super league.
Gleeson, ok he's a bit sulky but he's a Great Britain centre ffs, what's going on.
oh hang on a minute are we on about a different Tony Smith signing, sorry my bad

As long as Tone manages to teach him to pass to his winger, that would be great.

have to agree carvells injury record looked bad but look at what a signing he has turned out too be , smith will be looking at using solomona from the bench as an impact player , possibly with him and mickey higham both coming on the field when the opponents are tired could turn out to be a very good aspect in our game , leaving our backs to stroll in in the corner
IN SMITH WE TRUST !!

Ben Harrison should be the first player picked in any Warrington team, absolutely outstanding - reminds me of Nathan Hindmarsh.

| Solomona is the best ball playing forward in SL. There isn't another player quite like him.
I must admit I think Bridge will be hard done by losing his position, he was excellent again on Saturday. He might find himself fighting out that dreaded utility bench spot with Simon Grix.

Bridge has been involved in a number of very important plays for us at important parts of big games. He was impressive in the quarters/semis and the final of the cup. From right centre he has been popping up all over the field at just the right time.
It would be a huge mistake to shift Bridge onto the bench for Atkins.
Atkins isn't a bad player, he's just a little one dimensional. The anti-bridge I would say.
