| Wrench covering Wing isn't a bad shout but say we play him on the wing then lose a centre, there is hardly any cover at all in the backs. Plus it would definitely be better to try to settle him in one position at this stage, he is our only centre cover so will likely be getting a good 10-20 games at centre covering injuries/ suspensions.
Chanrley is good, he's reliable and he consistently plays most games in a season. I'd much rather he stays to be honest, I would be tempted to swap for Eden on a less wage though if that's on the cards.

I too would like to see Charnley stay.
He has been starved of possession, and did not get enough chances, which was ludicrous given his try strike rate when he joined us.

Not necessarily, if he's learning to play centre, not guarantee he can swiftly pick up wingers positioning and catching the myriad of kicks.
Not just yet.

So do you want him to play in our reserve team until Matautia retires then?
Wrench needs to play Super League in 2022 and if it means playing wing initially if Charnley leaves then I think he will thrive.
Lots of player have started their 1st team careers out of position on the wing, and then moved elsewhere in the backline later.

| I have hope Powell will give plenty of game time to Wrench, Thewlis, Walker and Longstaff. I think they are 4 real quality youngsters (particularly Walker and Longstaff) who will be around for a while.

| When you've seen teams with Sumner, Mark Jones, Gary tees, and hilton as your props, I don't know how you can possibly complain about the current incumbents.

| Sumner was way back when I first started watching, but I seem to remember injuries being the problem rather than ability?

Does the comparison hold Moe?
I don't have the answers and don't know whether we have cap space and will give them the BOD based on Powell's "gauntlet" podcast but the "current incumbents" are part of a squad that's been well funded and has been for years. Surely the question is, is it balanced, is our pot divvied up correctly?
The comparative would then read Morley, Carvell, Wood and Hill.

That's as I remember it as well. At that time we had to play young forwards too often and suffered the consequences.

| Been thinking about this and, in particular, the repeated references to a Satae type prop being required. That may well be true, but I'm not sure it's the style of prop that Powell goes for. Sizewise maybe yes, but Millington, Massey, even Liam Watts are not that barnstorming style. Junior Moors perhaps the exception to prove the rule. I think he'll be after Luke Thompson.

| It's not about stature it's about the ability to make yardage but also bust a tackle, get quick PTB and put in the occasional offload. Those things draw in more defenders and create a bit more space.
A small pack is fine so long as they tick the performance indicators. Ours doesn't.
