I’d send the WHO (not the band) over to Cas to investigate what must be the Ponty Carlo variant, as that particular strain seems to have run through the Castleford club about four times over now. It will go away when you ask nicely but only for a week or so and then it keeps returning, especially when you feel like your season is over.

The Parr variant doesn’t rear it’s head as often and is a less serious strain of the virus as it doesn’t impact people in the run up to important events and has excellent manners, as it will let you get the big event and subsequent session out of the way before coming calling. The fact you can predict the timing of the Parr variant is an excellent feature. Sadly the Parr variant does like to hang around the All Stars rugby league training camp, so understandably you wouldn’t want to send your players there.

Saints have to play 6 games to qualify for the play offs. They're going to be very busy in the next few weeks.

Yeah, good point to be fair. If Covid wipes you out then you're going to lose a lot of strength and fitness, very quickly. Can take a long time to build that back up again.

With two outbreaks (one this year, one last) already and all of our players being double-jabbed (probably) by the time the playoffs come along, hopefully it won't be an issue.

The Wembley variant is pretty nasty by all accounts, it comes on the next morning and symptoms are the room spinning when you lie down in bed, a banging headache that feels like someone has a pick axe inside your skull, nausea and vomiting. Can take a good few days to get it out of your system. Me and a few mates got it on a stag do in Prague. If the Saints players had that I don't blame them for cancelling matches, you would not want to play rugby league in that state.

I have heard of people getting C-19 and having zero symptoms. I don’t know of any, I know more than enough about my friends and celebrities who are dead and handicapped for life from it though.

I don’t make a throw away post when it comes to people I know dying. I think my post about our team being in less than peak condition for a game against anyone, let alone Wigan after a C-19 bout is also valid. Symptoms or not.
However I will be very happy if all our squad get zero symptoms and stay at the peak of their game to beat the pies. There’s nothing more I’d want from them currently. I’ll even be betting on Wire to win, as I always do.
