| I thought it was looking like a rerun of Monday night but credit where it is due. Ratchford and Widdop were excellent and Austin was a big running threat in the second half.

I'm looking forward to see the highlights, it seemed we did your right side what the giants did to us last week, currie at Richardson over and over and ratch at sene lefeo

One thing Powell did well at Cas was improve half backs Defence , Finn, Trueman , Gale but Danny seems to struggle. That said Jessie ain't a centre. He wouldn't be in the 21 with everyone fit. Then you got Mkmeekan killing it for catalan

| Sensible team selection - basically the team that finished the Huddersfield game with all players in their correction positions as far as possible. Decent result.

There is nowt so queer as folk. If we had lost so much steam/hot air would have been let off. It says so much.

| Decent performance in the end, Widdop looks the player we wanted and Currie was a threat too.
Don’t get me wrong, that Cas team was appalling, especially on the edges, but a similar team dispatched us with ease a few weeks ago, so credit where it’s due.
Strangely for Cas, the makeshift winger (Turner) looked far more accomplished than Olpherts. He’s a strange one Olpherts, real rocks or diamonds player, but today turned in a pretty average game.
Nod in the direction of Hughes, who I have been very critical of. He started the game really well I thought.

The price in clamour is never as loud as the price out campaign.
Hard to say today, nothing to moan about and not everyone could watch it to judge and have an opinion (me included). I'd think most are haply enough and saints losing is a bonus as well.

| Didn’t get to see or hear the game so can’t comment other than based on what I’ve read. So Widdop looking the real deal and any hat trick is not to be sniffed at and Ratchford is class...who knew?
Well doe Wire.

| Ratchford played well today, MOM no...that was Widdop. I wasn't over enamoured with the performance. We're good enough to win the title (due to the standard) but we played half a Cas team today and struggled until the last 15, nothing to get giddy about at all.

| ....and if its taken 9 games in to play a Cas fodder side to say 'look Ratchford can actually play half decent'....then there's the problem.

| I think a big positive today was the Wire attack which really showed up. Having said that I think we were somewhat flattered by the scoreline as Cas really fell away in the last 20-30 minutes of the game as they lost their defensive structure and looked tired. But yes, we attacked well and should have gained a lot of confidence from that performance.
Widdop was excellent and for me it was his willingness to chase the last tackle kicks, provide support to runners making a break, and chase down the Car danger men that really stood out. He just didn't seem to tire and was head and shoulders the best player on the pitch. Ratchford also gave a fine performance both in defence and attack.
On the flip side I thought Philbin struggled to make an impact and left a gap in our defensive line that led to a try. I think he has looked a bit flat all season tbh. Young Thewliss dropped a couple of howlers which gifted Cas two excellent attacking positions, one of which they converted into a try. Pity, I wonder if Price may now rest him. Toby King was well marked but still managed a couple of tries. One aspect to his game that I really like is the way he runs the ball back - he nearly always seems to make decent yards.
I don't think it was a coincidence that we performed better today with players in their best positions, plus Inglis out for a while and Danny Walker still out of the mix. I think that team is very close to our best option when we play the CC semi in two weeks.
