How much have we spent on transfer fees compared to our rivals? It’s almost like we are the only club who pay big transfer fees. That may be because we are the only club in a position to do so, but it still doesn’t show a good return on investment.

Anyway, we’ve missed out in one major final in a transitional year so to speak, under a new coach. More frustration than despair. It’s unlikely we will win the GF but there’s still a chance, and if this loss is the driving force for a victory at Old Trafford I’ll happily take it.

Not that this will matter to a troll, but i'll just clarify the 'homecoming' situation. The reason the local council put a notice out about the possible arrangements for a homecoming if it was needed, was A; Warrington's traffic being bloody ridiculous at the best of times, certainly in the town centre and B; we've got the creamfields festival being held here this weekend as always which buggers up the aforementioned already e traffic.

There are five games to go and at that^ rate we may get two, possibly three wins. That would take it to the wire with Huddersfield who can’t stop winning. The game against them is the key!


As for the OP talking about our deficiencies...
Half backs are poor, second row is poor (in attack our second rowers bring absolutely nothing to the table), size and pace in the pack is poor and lacks numbers.

Also we lack a proper leader and captain. I’d go as far to say that we should sell Chris Hill in the Winter and buy someone else. I don’t ‘get him’ anymore, don’t know what he’s about. He used to be a hard grafter with a good passing game, these days I’m not sure what he is, but he’s not a leader and he’s too niggly. I think he needs a fresh start somewhere else and we need a new #8, captain and main go-forward man.

It wouldn’t surprise me at all if we go through our final five games with 2 wins and 3 defeats with Huddersfield pipping is to fourth. I think we’re quite an average team with just a few top class players.

Can't disagree with any of those ratings, biscuit, but the quality of those players (and players at other SL clubs in that era) [iwalk all over[/i what we see in stadia or on TV, these days.

....and that's exactly why nothing is impossible. We CAN win SL. Saints look a shadow of what they were, pre July. Wigan can blow hot or cold, just like us and Cas. A late run of form for Cats and Hudds may we'll leave them a tad short.
